Rating: Summary: Quixtar 's breaking records on the way to #1 Review: Pro-Quixtar bias so what! The book is well done, I couldn't put it down. Lets see, the most successful launch in Internet history, assumed a dominant position in just a 1 1/2 years. 518 million dollars the 1st year and on track to do well over a billion the 2nd year. 1/3 of that is paid to the Independant Business Owners. Currently ranked 7th in volume, 3rd in customer satisfaction and 1st in repeat sales! Quixtar is breaking all the records on the way to # 1. The numbers speak for themselves. A brand new business model created just for the Internet, called Tridigital Commerce. A one word description, synergy! You don't have to sell your soul to be successful beyond your wildest dreams. I believe this is the greatest opportunity in history, 5 years from now you will kicking yourself if you don't get a piece of this. Quixtar is already in the driver's seat to dominate the biggest revolution in history. It's gonna take commitment, persistence and hard work, but nothing will give you the ROI like this will. Don't listen to the quitters, live a BIG life and make the world a better place! Tap : )
Rating: Summary: Research it then Do it Review: Reading this book is only the first step in researching whether the Quixtar business opportunity is for you or not. Don't bother reading the reviews of those that attack the business - rather read the reviews of the book itself. The book is enthralling - I read it in less than 3 days and reading is not my favourite hobby. It is obviously biased but what would you expect from a book titled "The Quixtar Revolution" ? (think!) The style of the book is very easy to read and easy to understand. Mr Barefoot mixes in his many interviews with prominent Quixtar business leaders while still giving a historical account of how the Internet and e-commerce have come into being and where the opportunities lie in the future. According to his previous writings he is quite an authority on the subject and worth listening to. After reading the book and getting my questions answered by people who were successful at this business who also claimed they would help me, I decided to do it. For YOUR sake, read this book, research this business opportunity, make a decision to get involved, then ignore the naysayers. See you in the traffic or on the beach. Your choice...
Rating: Summary: I don't need to read the book I lived it! Review: Well, it is quite funny to read all these reviews and I thought I would put my 2 cents in. Quixtar is not Amway unless your a negitive uniformed idiot, businesses change over time. Most of the negative reviews are from people who did not work the business properly, and or could have been in a bad organization, and or were sponsored by an idiot. I was an Amway Distributor as it transitioned into Quixtar, 1995-2001. I have to say that this business changed my life and helped a young buck like me grow up a little bit. I could give you a bunch of negative excuses about why my business failed too, but instead I will be honest. The bottom line is that I didn't STP 10+ per week, if I would have I might still be in and making a bunch of money. See in this business you get paid to help people build their business. It doesn't work if you don't help them sincerely. It takes blood sweat and tears baby to make this thing work. Don't be disolutioned it ain't socialism, its All American, you have to overcome a tremendous amount of negative to get wealthy(putting up with idiots, backstabbers, and gossoping etc..), it's a people business. If you can't hang just be honest with yourself and get out, don't bad mouth it. Try it! What do you have to loose? Do it for a year, and give it all you got, you won't be sorry. This, unlike some of the other decisions I've made in my life was up there in the top 5 good ones. I did go into alot of debt building my business, but that was my decision, it was worth every penny to me. You don't have to go into debt to build it, if you listen and work it hard, and make the business pay for itself. I went into debt because I didn't listen and work it hard like I was told to. I worked it, but not hard. This will be a great endeavorfor you, go for it! Go Britt team! Maybe I'll see ya again someday.
Rating: Summary: even for the computer illiterate....this book makes sense! Review: a very honest viewpoint of how we can be part of e-commerceLike many people, I have read and heard about the new e-commerce revolution and the way it is going to affect our lives however becoming a part of it and making an income from e-commerce seemed a world away and only available to those lucky one's with technical knowlege, major funds and willing to take the risk. This book shows quite clearly how the public can tap into the new industrial revolution of the 21st century, without having to invest money in stock or a shopping website, yet potentially build a full time income or choose to just save money..without having to give up one's career. The book gives a very balanced viewpoint, making it clear this is not a 'get rich' opportunity, yet showing by trends etc. that everyone can benefit in some way. The fact that buying trends are changing and people are fed up with the 'rat race' puts Quixtar in the right place at the right time, for people to build their own on line e-commerce business. The book also shows how Quixtar allows the housewife, budding executive, single person or whoever to be a major part of the e-commerce revolution and amazingly build a worldwide business. Like everything the proof of the pudding is always in the eating and since reading the book I have checked the site out and found it to be very impressive and popular....already 5th in the hit charts (I believe). I found it quite amazing that over $100 million dollars has been spent on this site to give the public the best, plus the abilty to joint venture with known brand, giving the book's viewpoints instant credibility.I have since registered for the price of a pair of shoes and have not been disappointed at the amazing site, which even includes a virtual office. I live in the UK so hope this comes over as an unbiased viewpoint as the opportunity is only available in the USA and Canada. IF any one wants to e-mail about my actual experiences or for advice, please do .....excellent book! excellent opportunity.
Rating: Summary: i'm so tired of this Review: i'm so tired of hearing people knock quixtar. first off if you create a cd do you not want to sell it? if that cd can reach someone who is on the fence is it not worth promoting? i personally got involved after i heard a cd, doesn't that make it possible that you may eventually buy a cd that gets someone else involved? for those people that don't like quixtar because of the selling of motivational products... look at all the cd's you buy and throw them away and whatever you do do not go to their concerts.... heaven forbid they get their message out. that is what the cd's, seminars, etc. are created for.
Rating: Summary: Making your own way by listening to the right people Review: Great book for the average person with the desire and intelligence to create their own future but lack the large financial resources generally needed to break into the business owner world. If I had listened to the quitters and detractors I wouldn't be headed for the life I've always wanted. When I read attempts at making negative comments like this one:--"The book should have told the truth that flipping over a forty-plus-year-old company into a new name is not the same as a new company!"-- I have to laugh, because it actually shows the credibility and perservance of a company that has lasted FORTY-PLUS-YEARS! Many traditional companies have never made it that long. And in this day and age, if a company truly operated a scam, I seriously doubt our govt. would let it go on for FORTY-PLUS-YEARS! Which brings any intelligent thinking person to the conclusion that this business model works if you work the business model. This corporation is well-established, recognized the world over, has come under the srutiny of our govt. in the past and from many others, and passed, to continue its tradition of giving those who desire to change there lives one of the best opportunities that exist in our country today. People, make your own informed decisions about this business. Don't listen to well intentioned people who put their own spin on it. You owe it to yourselves to get ahold of this information and then decide, for yourself, if it is what you want.
Rating: Summary: An Interesting Read Review: The book was interesting, to say the least, for anyone involved or thinking about becoming involved with the Quixtar business. Lots of insight and background on the business startup in 1999. In reading some of the other "book reviews" entered on Amazon[.com], I find it amazing how the writer likes to "sound off" with nothing but negative comments and how Quixtar is just Amway, etc. etc. This area is for book reviews, not a sounding board for discontented distributors who quit the business because they found it too hard. This message board is all about the books. Lets keep it that way.
Rating: Summary: Amway by any other name (Quixtar) is still Amway Review: Although well written, there is deception in the build-up of ths "new" company, when it is Amway repackaged. Not LIKE Amway. Quixtar IS Amway. Just tell the truth, guys--their reputation had become so bad by deceiving people into attending meetings thinking they were going out to dinner, or going to a "tax seminar", or a meeting on "saving our economy"--they had to change their name! They HAD to quit loading big inventories on people, because the government was coming after them. So they switched to online ordering. So what. It is still overpriced products with a gimmick (hoping to get rich if I just hang in there) and having to spend a mandatory [particular amount of money] or so a month to get a measley little check. You dare not fail to order the [particular amount of money], or you'll lose your "organization". Of course, some will earn big bucks, but it is because gullible, sincere people are losing money. The sad part is, they'll defend it with their lives because the expensive tapes and CD's and the books they buy teach them to do so. This "screw-your-buddy" kind of wealth is shameful. The book should have told the truth that flipping over a forty-plus-year-old company into a new name is not the same as a new company!
Rating: Summary: Unfortunate Bias Review: I was in Amway for five years and I showed "the plan" almost every week and barely reached 1000PV when my upline encouraged me to buy the remaining 200PV to reach my goal. Although the books and tapes Amway pushes are very motivational and really helped me with my marriage and career, we spent THOUSANDS of dollars on seminars, books & tapes and we never made a dime. What you will not be told is that the possibilities of income are inflated and in fact most of the money is made from the books, tapes & seminars that you "INVEST" in. I spent around $500 a month for five years ($30,000 total) and we were encouraged to do ANYTHING to invest in our business. Quixtar is only Amway repackaged. Why did they do that? Because EVERYONE knows about Amway but they can still peek people's interest with the new name. Only a handful of people make money in Amway out of the millions that are members. Amway & Quiktar were way too deceptive for me. Save your money on this book. It is biased. Also, they claim their products are wholesale priced at 30% cheaper. I went to three grocery stores and I found that all their products are higher than the RETAIL you could get at a store.
Rating: Summary: Before You Continue. . . Review: I have noticed a common theme among the other reviews here. Almost everyone that gives a bad review here seems to call Amway, Quixtar, or both, a cult. By my definition, a cult is a group of ppl that belive something blindly without researching the truth. The only cult I see here consists of the critics. Thats right, everyone I have seen that looks at the facts, can find no problem with Quixtar. And Quixtar is no more Amway than it is Microsoft. Microsoft had a development team writing the website. Amway had people developing the infastructure. Microsoft has licensed code on the Quixtar servers. Amway released its MLM technique to Quixtar. Is Quixtar a disquised Microsoft? Of course not, and neither is it Amway. Amway is a good model that simply moved to a new locale. If you are wondering if Quixtar will work, you can already see it in the raw number of copycat sites out there. I think that we will see Quixtar become the model of E-Commerce just as we see Microsoft as the model of software distribution and coding. As for the book, the content was accurate and well presented, though I didn't like the quotes of nearby text. Big, bold print thrown in my face made it difficult to read at times, but the content was very easy to read and understand. I would like to see him do a follow-up on this work sometime.
