Summary: Go Elmer!
Review: Dr. Towns' book is a delightful, must read for every Pastor. As an Assistant Pastor, I can relate to several of the stories that Dr. Towns tells concerning his early ministry in his first church in Savannah, Georgia. His stories of his first funeral, first wedding, and how he and his congregation painted "the whole church in one day" are humorous and inspiring. As with his "Stories from the Front Porch", Dr. Towns is both inspiring and practical. At the end of each chapter, he points out several principles that he learned from the events in the chapter. I highly recommend it for Pastors and laypersons as well.

Review: Elmer Towns is a godly example to young pastors who does not spare himself any embarrassment in his effort to teach from his experiences. The story of his first funeral made me laugh out loud for about a minute. A great gift book for a pastor or aspiring student.
