Summary: A COMPLICATED AND STRONG MAN, JOHN WHITEHEAD
Review: FROM A CHILD TO A MATURE MAN JOHN WHITEHEAD SHOWS STRENGTH AND INDEPENDENT THINKING. HIS COLLEGE REALTIONSHIP WITH A FUTURE JUDGE AND PRESIDENT GAVE HIM A PRIVY INSIGHT INTO WHAT MAKES THESE PEOPLE TICK.........I VERY MUCH ADMIRE JOHNS WIFE CAROL WHO BELIEVES AND SUPPORTS JOHN AND MOST OF HIS DECISIONS, NO MATTER WHAT, SHE IS HIS GREATEST FAN. I HAVE NOTICED HOW WE CHRISTIANS ARE APATHETIC, LACK OF KNOWLEDGE OF FIRST AMENDMENT RIGHTS, REFUSE TO STAND UP AND SPEAK OUT, HOWEVER THIS CHRISTMAS WAS UNDER TOTAL ATTACK AND THIS CHRISTIAN IS WIDE AWAKE, HOWEVER, IT TOOK AN ATTACK ON THE HOLLIDAY I LOVE MOST CHRISTMAS TO SPEAK OUT.........A GREAT BOOK, EDUCATIONAL IN FIRST AMENDMENT RIGHTS, ADVENTEROUS AND SHOWS A VERY TIGHT AND LOVEABLE FAMILY................

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Totally engrossing
Review: John Whitehead comes through as a real person with a not so promising background who emerges as a "bigger than life" Christian man. He truly makes one believe that with God all things are possible. Not only do we learn the truth about Paula Jones, but he also has met Clinton, Dobson, Jim Bakker, Jerry Falwell, Anita Hill, Pat Robertson, Randall Terry, etc, etc. And, though the book is not about her, I am equally enthralled with his wife, Carol. What a woman! She should write her own book about her life with John and how she perservered. You will be fascinated about John Whitehead's "conversion story."

Summary: A Rich Autobiography!!!
Review: John Whitehead has written his own story, here, and he begins by taking you to what was the present case he was pursuing - the Paula Jones case - and back to his beginnings as a left wing radical during the 60's. As a previous reviewer noted, this is totally engrossing reading, and once I began, it was hard to put the book down.

Maybe it was because I could relate to John's story, and tracked along with him during the era he grew up in, as I also did, or maybe it was the interesting insights into his conversion to Christ when he was younger, and the "personalities" he met along the way...I don't know. In any event, he lists many different persons on his journey, from Jerry Falwell to Pat Robertson to the ACLU, to Bill Clinton, and other notable politicians, to "holy rollers" to the PTL Club. It's all there in candid and frank fashion, and he doesn't "name names" just for the mere exposing of them. He's actually had personal contact with them.

He speaks of his friendship with Dr. Francis Schaeffer and his son Franky, as well as Dr. Rushdoony, and other intellectuals, Christians who have stood in the gap for him and encouraged him, and he's also very frank about his own struggles, and the struggles he's had in his marriage and with the raising of his children. Then there's the Paula Jones case, and this is a hair-raising experience.

The Rutherford Institute is clearly presented from its infancy to its present form, and again, this is compelling reading. If you want to know the truth about this man, this is the definitive book on the topic.

Highly recommended!!!
