Rating: Summary: Be on your toes when you read itt Review: A Review by TriciaIt was Paul Barrett's eighteenth birthday. He got a job as a lifeguard on a beach at a New Jersey resort and he is also champion swimmer. The summer was going perfect for him when he meets this girl named Jody Miller (a ballet dancer). It was love at first sight. That all changes one night when Jody is calling for him beyond the breakers. He couldn't reach her, but she could she could reach him on the phone, on the street, and on the beach. And now Paul is about to become the haunted one. I like how this book keeps you on your toes. Like when Jody tries to contact Paul and it is just scary because she is dead. I also like how the book gives you a big twist at the end the end of the book. The twist is when Paul finds out that Jody has a sister and that she was also trying to talk to him. Jay Bennett also gives a lot of description of how Jody looks when Paul firsts sees her and you can really picture what she looks like in your head. You can also get the picture of what the beach looks like every time Paul looks at it. I don't think that there was anything that I didn't like in this book. I would recommend this book to ages 13 and up. And for people who likes to be on there toes when they read and like suspense a lot. This book is easy to follow so you won't get lost when you read it.
Rating: Summary: Twenty Stars out of Five Review: I rarely read books, but this one caught my attention (possibly because of the fact that it is a true story). I just could not put this book down. I had read for several hours the first night. I did, however, have to turn on several lights because I kept hearing strange noises in the dark! (And the slightest creaks had really startled me!) After I could no longer keep my eyes open (after three in the morning), I did have to try to get to sleep (not completely in the dark, though). As soon as I got up less than six hours later, I picked up the book and I didn't put it down until I was finished. I was so hoping for a happy ending after all of the torment the family had endured for so long. Their story is completely believable and extraordinarily written! I would give this book a lot more than just five stars. Superb!

Rating: Summary: YES-````The Haunted-Is Real.```` Review: I read the book, and can relate to the truth because of my own experiences with the paranormal. This is by far the scariest demonic case I've ever read about... This world does contain mystery.
Rating: Summary: A nightmare close to home Review: Robert Curran (who co-wrote with victims Jack & Janet Smurl and deomonologists Ed & Lorraine Warren) relates a whale of a tale about how the Smurl family suffered from ever escalating paranormal activity in their home until the place became unlivable. The amount of seemingly corroborative evidence (via witness accounts from various neighbors, some anonymous and others not) gives the story an extra boost of needed credibilty, but it's more intellectually intriquing than emotionally intense. Recommended.
Rating: Summary: FRIGHTENING AND SURREAL! Review: This book was truly frightening and some of the documented incidents are beyond comprehension; how this family survived the constant stalking of these low-level demons is a testimony to their courage and faith in God. The Smurls were subjected to all manner of insidious occurences as were Jack Smurl's elderly parents, who lived on the other side of the duplex. Neighbors also witnessed the phenomena. A movie based on the book (The Haunted, starring Sally Kirkland) was made some years back; it too is intense and definitely not for young kids. Above all, this book reinforces the fact that evil is always around us; it's true source, unfortunately, often goes unnoticed or unrecognized.
Rating: Summary: The Haunted Review: This is an excellent book, very well written. Anyone who has seriously studied demomology, or the paranormal, will know this book is true to the facts, from the bangings in the walls, to the terrible odors, to the physical and mental abuse that inhuman spirits put upon their human victems, to horrible manifestations. This family suffered greatly under the hand of a true inhuman spirit, but yet survived it toegether as a family because their faith in God did not falter. If you have followed Ed and Lorraine Warrens teachings, this book is a must read...
