Rating: Summary: An Insiders look at the secret life of Pastors Review: A very enjoyable, concise and to the point review by day, week, and activity of a protestant Pastor. Well written and an easy read. A few typos mar an otherwise excellent narrative. I strongly recommend it for anyone wanting to know just how busy and demanding, yet rewarding the ministry can be.

Rating: Summary: Essential for LC-MS ordination candidates! Review: I am in the process of applying to the Concordia Theological Seminary-Ft. Wayne, and this text was of great benefit to me. It offered information that I would have never considered. I agree with the previous reviewer that there are a few typos, and I did not like the author's, what I would call an obsession, with money and social position; sometimes it was warranted, but most of the time not.
Helpfully, he discusses dealing with funeral, weddings, counseling, etc. He describes that most of his work is spent with creative writing: sermons, bulletins, etc.
This is a must read, and a great tool for discernment; you must know both sides of the ministry before making the decision; souls depend on it.
