Rating: Summary: To Cherish the Moment Review: The power of Fein's book was felt by me most deeply as a parent. To be presented with the portrait of this daughter, to consider the poignant relationship she had with her father and with her community, is to be called to reflect anew on the way one cherishes one's own children and the unique contributions they make to their world. The book is a nuanced, searching presentation of life and loss and love. I am augmented for having read it.
Rating: Summary: A living inspiration--"Against the Dying of the Light" Review: This father's story of his love and loss of an extraordinary daughter provides an inspiration with lessons about living and loving. Leonard Fein's sensitivity, insight and searching helps others piece together the meaning of relationship, belief and life. I have recommended it to my book club and bought copies for several friends. He must be a remarkable man. The great joy, within the sadness of this loss, is that he and his daughter were able to share such a loving relationship while she was alive. This is the priority we should all cherish and live to fulfill--creating lives of meaning, love and relationship.
