Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: Ageofanxiety & dss1744 are the same reviewer most likely. Review: In response to the reviewer "ageofanxiety", this reviewer consistantly likes to BASH and PERSONALLY ATTACK people that simply disagree with her. This reviewer is an agry person who needs a "fanxiety" chill pill I think. It is all too strange that a personal attack against Dan Quayle, Charlton Heston (LOL) (and another amazon reviewer) comes from the likes of a NEW REVIEWER called "dss1744", that only has a total of 3 reviews, and they personally attack another amazon reviewer simpy because of opinions. Also, the wording used by these to reviewers are very simular and very obvious. It started from AN OPINION on a couple of David Lynch films, and that orginal reviewer stated HOW PHYSCO "SOME", not all, Lynch FANATICS can be. That orginal thread says it all. That reviewer got attacked personally from a simple OPINION & review of his or her OPINION on the Lynch films. From theno on the war was on in this "ageofanxiety" and his or her so-called friends (I think made up), like the NEW "dss1744".Oh well.I guess in the end we are all guilty of opinions. But personal attacks are not called for and therfor it is "ageofanxiety" who LOSES in regards to remarks and reviews. It's like the person with the "foul-mouth" make themselves look bad.LET IT REST you people with too much time on your hands. Please. To give a review based on ones opinion is one thing, but to personally attack Dan Quayle, Charleton Heston or anyone else over their politics, OPINIONS, or way of life shows enormous stupidity.Let it rest. I am.Ditto. Dan Quayle is simply a smart man and regardles of OPINIONS, he didn't get where he is today being dumb no matter what you think of his politics.Who cares who's Liberal or Conservative? It's all a matter of PERSONAL opinions, and NOBODY deserves to be PERSONALLY ATTACKED because of that. Think about that next time you go to do a review and, like you said, "stereotype" people. Oh yeah, like you also said that Americans are dumb and can't think because their attention span is limited and they are "couch potatoes". Who's stereotyping who?Anyways, let it all rest.
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: standing as the bold faced hypocrite you are Review: old dan is the boldest hypocrite in the history of american politics. even among republican hypocrites he stands brightly as a hypocrite. and, he has been one from the beginning. when dan 'family values' quayle first ran for senate against birch bayh he ran a series of television and newspaper ads criticizing bayh for missing more days in the senate during the previous year than any other senator. the ads went onto say that bayh didn not care at all for his constituants, was lazy and a bad leader. what the ads forgot to mention was that bayh was home caring for his dying wife during that past year. so what did quayle criticize bayh for? for having family values! after ms bayh passed way from the cancer that was killing her bayh lost to quayle. a small few publicly stated that qualye should issue an apology for the way he ran that campaign. the indianapolis star, ran by quayles family, of course refused to publish criticisms of dans campaign. no apology was ever issiude of course and a few years later as dan ran for vp for the equally stupid bush sr, he ran on a family values campaign. dan you make me sick. it is a relief that among polticians you have been forgotten, except as a joke.
Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: Bye Bye Dan Review: Standing Firm was supposed to be Dan Quayle's presidential resume. Instead it turned out to be his political swan song. I initially read the book weeks after it was released. When I finished it, I had this uneasy feeling that many of the things that Quayle had tooted his horn about were either exagerrated or, even worse, lies.I have spent the rest of the time since in listening to many people who were involved with the Bush administration come out and say that Quayle did exactly that with this book. President Bush did not treat Dan Quayle with nearly the amount of inclusiveness that he received from Ronald Reagan. A favorite phrase of fellow conservatives to use currently is 'the media is trying to Quayle him.' The media didn't do to Dan Quayle half as bad as Quayle did to himself. This book is just one more example of a man who couldn't keep his foot out of his mouth long enough to string together two coherent sentences. As far as presidential manifestos go, this is definitely a stinker.
