Review: Ms. Gordon has raised the bar for theatrical commentary with this fantastic casebook. As a Sondheim fan, I found it intriguing, vastly explanatory, and well-put throughout. She has taken each show and dissected their creation and production revealing the true genius of Sondheim and his Collaborators. Well edited and concisely worded, this book is a must-have for any admirerers of Sondheim or musical theatre in general. The book was worlds of help as research for my lecture/recital on Sondheim. Through Ms. Gordon's words I was able to find material and citations that would vastly back-up what I was saying in my speech. Read this book.
