Summary: Texas Men: A Cowboys & Indians Magazine Review, January 2001
Review: A collection of interviews and photographs of over 180 Texas men, from firemen, to billionaires, the gamut is extensive. The author, Martana, is a sixth-generation Texan, who hangs her hat in Dallas. Each interview has a "Tall Texas Tale" written by a good friend-men and women who are distinguished in their own right. Some of the tall tale writers are President George Bush (for actor Chuck Norris), and Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn (for artist Bill Worrell). Other important Texas men featured include Western wear outfitter Mike Cavender, All-American roper Roy Cooper, Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, and Olympic athlete Carl Lewis. Artistic photography by Mikel Wixson captures the ranches, estates, and business empires where these men spend their time away from work. A gem of a coffee table book. -by Kelly Roberts
