Summary: A READER FROM TEXAS
Review: GOOD BOOK READ ON THE BEAUTY PAGEANT INDUSTRY. THE ELEANOR STORY WAS SO TOUCHING. BRAVO TO
HER FOR COMING OUT OF THE CLOSET.
SHE MUST BE SOME TOUGH COOKIE TO
ENDURE ALL SHE'S ENDURED. THE JONBENET STORY COULD HAVE BEEN STRONGER. IT SHOULD HAVE CONTAINED MORE ON THE PAGEANT SCENE. THELADY
IN THE BOOK NEEDS TO WRITE HER OWN
STORY LINES. I'M SURE WITH THE LENGTH OF TIME SHE HAS SOME GOOD READING. I DEFINITELY WOULD RECCOMEND IT TO OTHERS BECAUSE OF THE INSIDE PAGEANT STORY AND THE TOUCHING STORY ON THE DIRECTOR. I CRIED ALOT FOR HER. I CAN SEE HOW THIS WAS TIED INTO JONBENETS LIFE.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: I APPLAUD THE PAGEANT DIRECTOR!!
Review: I applaud the Pageant Dircetor for the courage she showed telling HER STORY! This Author needs to write her own story on kiddie pageants...it would be a best seller!! Enough of JONBENET...we want to read the real story on why this little girl was exploited! PLEASE write a book on the kiddie pageant industry only!!!

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: HOPE TO SEE ANOTHER BOOK
Review: I certainly do hope to see another book on the child beauty industry. It seems to me like the author was on the right trail but had a poor writer. The book seemed very confusing to me at times. It went in circles. The story on the director was very intriguing and sad. I do hope that she will have the courage to try again...with the right person! WE WOULD ALL LOVE TO READ ON THE CHILD PAGEANT INDUSTRY! I'm sure she has alot to tell! One more thing...I must agree with the co-author...I think the parents are still covering up for the son...no matter what they portray!

Summary: Needs editorial help
Review: I forced myself to read this book. It is filled with gramatical errors and sentence fragments. Several of the facts are wrong. Doesn't the editor make corrections like this before he publishes the book? Like the police in Boulder, I do not agree that Burke was responsible for the death of JonBenet. She was made up, dressed up, and aged up. But in spite of all of the things that were done to her to make her "look" pretty, she was the prettiest child that I have ever seen in my life. Her beauty was given to her by God. I have read nearly every book about the murder of JonBenet Ramsey. This one is very poorly written, perhaps the poorest.

I would give this zero stars if I could.

Summary: Un organized and Untrue
Review: I tried to read this book becasue of a paper I was writing on JBR but I could barely get through it. This book was first really un organized, second completely inaccurate, and thirdly this book didn't pick any side at all. In the end, Eleanor Von Duyke blames the death of JonBenet Ramsey on her brother. It was a waste of time, unless you feel that Burke killed her too.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Too Bad This Wasn't A Story on Beauty Pageants!
Review: I was certainly disappointed that this whole book wasn't on the beauty pageant industry. I hope that Eleanor VonDuyke does write one on the industry. I feel that Jonbenet books are growing into nothing! The same thing is being printed...everything you read in the Tabloids or newspapers! I think that if the right writer gets ahold of this woman there will be alot to be told. This book is no where to be found. i ran into it accidently on the internet. Why? It definitely is one of the better Jonbenet books out there...at least the Director's story is SOMETHING new!!

Summary: Needs editorial help
Review: The theory in the book leaves us with a wild imagination. Better written, it would have been one of the best books out there. At least it was a theory to think about, not one that everyone else has come up with. All the others have come up with the same thing...NOTHING! The same thing with all the TV interviews and tabloid articles..NOTHING! I would like to read more about the Children Beauty Pageants. I bought this book hoping to read about it.

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: Very poorly written
Review: This is, doubtlessly, one of the most poorly written books I've ever read. It is apparent to me that the author threw the book together as the funding started to dry up. The theory posed in the book was interesting, but precious little facts and evidence are given to support it. It is pure speculation at best, and poorly written speculation at that.

Summary: HURRAH FOR INSIDE PAGEANT STORY!! AN EX PAGEANT MOM !
Review: What a sad story. I'm also an abused child I wished I had the courage to tell my side of what happened to me, but I can't. I will read this book over and over...someday maybe I will have the courage to TELL. This book will help many who have been abused. I cried when I read her story...the anguish she must be going through. Can you imagine what little JonBenet went through...only the people who have gone through with it will ever know. The last chapter makes you stop and think...Did mommy and daddy really do it??? The only other thing, I wished it would have contained more about the pageant industry. I got out because i didn't agree on what those moms do to their beautiful little girls. I also saw the hitting, the pulling of hair, and some DUCT-TAPING. It wasn't for me!
