Review: From what I gathered prior to reading this beautiful book, it had gotten extremely good reviews in various countries, especially the UK. Having read it, I can honestly say it is fantastic. It is a narration of life. This book is not just about Iran. It is factual, historical, dramatic and passionate. You will want to read on and on. I wish it hadn't ended? Maybe there will be a sequel!

Review: Ok, so i dont know anything about iran but after reading this book, i understand how life is there and especially the lives of women. by just looking at this book, it doesnt look interesting and even when you start reading it, its like "what?" but trust me if u want to know about iran and the lives people live there, this is a great book. i live in new york and after reading about how life is so different, it really makes you appreciate what u have especially your freedom.

Review: The writer gives an eloquent account of the life of her two preceding generations in Iranian small towns as well as the story of her own fights, achievements and torments. These, combined with the history of economical rise and the subsequent political downfall of Iran makes the book highly interesting. Rouhi Shafii portrays vivid pictures and provide great analysis of the Iranian people under different circumstances in Iran and abroad. Great book. I highly recommend its reading to all groups and generations of Iranians and others who are interested in knowing more about Iran, its people and the way of life in that country.
