Summary: Unbelievably Overpriced! Not worth it!
Review: I was very excited to see a new book coming out on this great actress. When I saw the price I thought it was probably a large coffee table book with a lot of big color photos of Miss Hayward inside. I knew something was amiss when I saw the size of the box it came in and how light it was when I picked it up. Inside was a very small hardcover book with reviews of her films inside and a very small commentary on her personal life. Interspersed were small black & white photos from her films. Only 174 pages, followed by index and research notes. I paid [money]for this!! Where did they come up with this price? There is no price listed anywhere on the book. I feel very ripped off. Don't make the same mistake as me.

Summary: Waste of Time
Review: THE worst biography or 'Films Of'-type book I have ever seen. The author doesn't even seem to enjoy Hayward's career; there is no enthusiasm, no knowledge here. With all the books on Susan Hayward through the years, the author had enough material to write a substantial biography, combining everything into something Hayward fans could sink their teeth into. Not only doesn't the author even try to attempt this, he doesn't even want to give critical comments on her films. The pictures are nice - but that's it. This looks and reads like a rush job, an easy way to make a buck on a known celebrity. Then again, Holston doesn't realize that movie fans are not that stupid. Junk is junk - and your book will fail.
