Summary: Too much even for a Duras fan.
Review: I'd have to agree with the synopsis, I couldn't help feeling that if I was heavily into the bottle I might find the fable that fills too much of this book more interesting. Too much time is spent whilst reading wishing that Duras would concentrate on other things, her relationship with Yann for starters instead of skirting the issue. If she didn't want it to be personal why write it?

Review: Yann Andrea Steiner is a difficult read but rewarding. Some of the images she presents are very beautiful. The blanks in her writing and especially in this novel creates a grey, dreamlike atmosphere. This book should be read on a rainy winter afternoon.
