Rating: Summary: Miniature painting at its best Review: I would recommend this book for serious folks interested in the art of Mogul Miniatures. Jahangir was a very special king and this book sheds light on the magic of the time period. It is a big and physically heavy book but such a joy to read. You can glimpse into the interests and lives of the royality and experience their lives in detail. The authors have gone into alot of research and there are many descriptions to dates, calendar, language and art. The book itself is a work of art. The reproductions of the miniature paintings, including many portraits of the royal court, are excellent. It is about time that art such as this is understood, recognized and appreciated. This book leads the way.
