Summary: Brrutal Truth
Review: It is amazing to read such a refreshingly honest story. Harris has captured the essence of a unique individual-a rebellious Southern lady who becomes fashion model and painter-whose life was an untidy adventure with more than her share of pain. In this era of exaggeration and spin, it is a delight to read a brutally honest account. It is no wonder the subject chose not to reveal her name and the author has kept the secret well.

Summary: A different life
Review: This is an appealing memoir about a young woman who, over the objection of her conservative Southern family, goes off to New York in the 1940s, becomes a fashion model and then a painter, has many encounters in fashion and artistic circles in New York and later in Paris, lives for a time in Mexico, and returns eventually to the US. Its title derives from her meeting and relationship with the expatriate Peruvian Gonzalo Mor? subsequent to his breakup with Anais Nin. An entertaining read.
