Rating: Summary: Especially for survivors of childhood abuse Review: Also available in a hardcover edition (0974430501, $30.00), So, What's Normal: Life After Pedophilia, Abuse And Neglect is the vividly recounted story of one woman's journey from the horrors of childhood abuse and neglect, to eventual recovery and hope as an adult. Rhonnie's autobiographical story is one of courageous example and reveals how she was able to break through the cycles of abuse and achieve a personal compassion for other abused individuals leading her to establish the non-profit foundation "Leaps and Bounds" with the dedicated mission of extending hope and help to other abused children and adults by funding rehabilitative therapy. So, What's Normal? is seriously recommended reading -- especially for survivors of childhood abuse, and those who love them.
Rating: Summary: So, What's Normal? Life After Pedophilia, Abuse and Neglect Review: At first I was afraid that this book would be depressing, but once I picked it up and started reading, I could not put it down. The author took me through the horror of pedophilia, abuse and neglect in her life, in her own words, to say that there is hope for those that have gone through this type of abuse. Her courage to relate her story to help others that may have or is going through this is remarkable! The truth of this story and how she overcame all of it is encouraging for anyone who has had to live with this type of neglect and abuse. I was very moved and touched by this book. I would recommend this book for anyone to read.
Rating: Summary: A life changing experience Review: Rhonnie has found a way to take the average, sheltered person through what was to me only possible in a nightmare. Her child hood was a nightmare, a real one. So, What's Normal? Shines spot light on child abuse and its invisible presence in the most personal way possible. This book is so detailed, provocative and emotional that it is impossible to not be affected by the words within. A tragic life with a triumphal outcome, unique in it self; full of hope for our children, neighbors, family and friends. Definitely a Page turner, best book I've read this year!
Rating: Summary: So, What's Normal? Review: Rhonnie shares her most horrific experinces as an abuse child, and as an abused adult. You are made to feel her pain. People need to read this book to realize, abuse is real, and something needs to be done about it.

Rating: Summary: Must read Review: So What's Normal is a soul searing, brutally honest, inspirational journey into one woman's childhood nightmare! Rhonnie's painfully honest portrayal of violence, abuse and neglect that she endured as her everyday "normal" life demands self reflection and redefines ones personal experiences. Makes you stop and wonder if your personal demons weren't so bad after all.As a daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece, wife, mother, and friend, I am truly astounded by the lack of compassion that is demonstrated to Rhonnie and her siblings time and time again. How can these dirty little things happen in the light of day and in full view of so many people? How can anyone read this book and not wonder about the state of our humanity? In the school of hard knocks, it takes her a while, but luckily Rhonnie's strong spirit provides her with the courage to realize, react and break the ties that are perpetuated in all cycles of abuse. For her, knowledge is power and power is change! On behalf of all humanity, I'd like to say heartfelt congratulations to Rhonnie. To everyone else, I would like to recommend this as mandatory reading. I am guessing that if you were lucky enough to escape abuse, someone else in your circle of life was not. Ps: make sure the Kleenex box is handy!
