Review: I read this book when it first came out in the '70's not knowing that it was highly personalized and exaggerated. Duarte's book on Segovia sets the record straight, rationally explaining what we now deem un-PC about the book. Segovia reminisces a romanticised Spain in which he plays the center role. The reader may vicariously enjoy this or toss the book aside as garbage. A must for nostalgics, history buffs(with a grain of salt) and Hispanophiles. At the least, the book reveals the mind of an erudite, cultured, and gifted personality.
