Summary: What an exceptional truthful book!
Review: Every young black man should read Roland's book. He has quite an insight and speaks of the reality of events of the past and present. The kind of wisdom that Roland has only comes from God.

Thanks Roland for sharing and revealing the truth of this present era.

Honest, enlightening and informative book!

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: A Wake Up Call
Review: Roland S. Martin has definitely put into words thoughts and feelings that may resonate with many of us, but we are unable or unwilling to admit. His brutal honesty regarding the attitudes of black america may sting, but you are forced to continue reading, because the brother captivates you. At times he is a silent observer reporting on the commentary, but most effective when he lets the reader experience his pain and sadness. He is a much needed voice of black america. This book should be a must read for young black men and women.

Summary: Who knew a book could be both inspirational and realistic?
Review: We were very pleased to host this book's author, Roland S. Martin, for a book discussion and signing, December 2003. We found ourselves with a full house of fans wishing to discuss current events and controversial issues.

Speak Brother covers a lot of ground ranging from Halle Berry's Oscar win to media representation of African Americans to economics and finance to the author's interesting take on the issue of diversity at Texas A&M University. The book is definitely a worthy read. It is sharp, tight, compact and to the point with not one word wasted at an affordable price.

The author communicated many ideas and words of wisdom from a realistic, while at the same time, inspirational standpoint which not everyone can do. We're definitely looking forward to Mr. Martin's next work.
