Summary: Excellent Book!!
Review: I am the wife of a police officer and bought this book for my husband. We both thought the book was excellent. We loved it! The author taps into how the job is at times exciting, fulfilling, dangerous, boring, mundane, repetitive, and how the job can get to you mentally and emotionally. The book is a call by call look at what police officers do. Anyone who is a police officer would understand and relate to this book.

Summary: A burden indeed?
Review: I found this book to be a burden on my IQ. The author confirms my beleifs on most law enforcement officials and he fits into my perception perfectly. Filled with self gratifying conceit disguised as drama and the desire to attain special attention - was more than I could handle. Combine the 8th grade level of writing with attention deficit disorder, mix in large portions of self glamore and you have the essence of this book.

Summary: More Than A Badge!
Review: You have to read this book! A day by day, call by call accounting of a street cop. You feel the passion of the officer and understand the frustration that police officers face each and every day. Officer East places you in the back seat of his patrol car as he answers every call the entire year. YOU HAVE TO READ pages 201-203 Regarding the Tax increase that was turned down and the note that is on Officer East's Frig. This section of the book "Struck my heart" and I will never look at that job the same again. AN OUTSTANDING, EASY TO READ, HIGHLY RECOMMEND BOOK!!
