Summary: The Bottlewasher
Review: Loved The Bottlewasher! Reminded me of my own youth in the midwest in the 50's. It was fun to relate to the characters, and reminisce about days gone by. Besides being well written, Kay Reilly had a lot to say!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A welcome mix of history, memory, and sharped-tongued humor.
Review: The Bottlewasher: Selections From A Small-town Newspaper Column Of The Early 1950's by the late Gretta H. Trainer is a collection of weekly small-town newspaper columns written by a homemaker in 1951-1955 - a time when few mothers also had the opportunity to work, let alone write. Filled with wisdom, anecdotes, wistful and not-so-wistful glimpses at American life half a century ago, and aptly compiled and edited by Trainer's daughter, Kay T. Reilly, The Bottlewasher is an engaging, highly recommended read filled with history, memory, and sharp-tongued humor.
