Rating: Summary: Why "To Be A Nurse" should be read by a nurse Review: The pleasure of reading books is one I still enjoy. When the reader is able to truly understand, commiserate, empathize and laugh with the author, there is a great feeling. The many short stories included in this title are ones that will make you laugh, cry and think. In Linda Strangio's book, "To Be A Nurse", I found all those elements. The short-stories that are written are from the viewpoint of a well-seasoned Registered nurse. The experiences that are written about are ones that any nurse with years of practice can relate to.It makes nurses remember their favorite patients, their coworkers and the reasons why we went into this profession. This book also gives lay people good insight to what a nurse feels and sees when caring for the patients. It also gives all who read it heartfelt emotions, laughing in some stories, and feeling tears run down their face in other stories. I would definately recommend this book to anyone who is a nurse, anyone who wants to become a nurse, or anyone who has had the pleasure of dealing with a nurse. It is easy-reading, can be put down and gone back to....but, I found myself saying, "let me just read the next section" and completing the book in a very short time.
