Rating: Summary: Phish Rots Review: Another piece of glorified self-promotion by the most pointless band in history. Thank god they broke up so I will enver have to endure another 1 hour long song or see people dance all stupid. Don't even get me started on those hideous handmade clothes they buy in freaking parking lots, for the love of god.
Rating: Summary: Phandimonium Review: Even though the band formed the year before I was born, I concider myself a true Phish Phan. If you too are a true phan, this book will be the best thing since Story of the Ghost.
Rating: Summary: The MUST HAVE book for every PHiSH fan! Review: MOST EXCELLENT! Contrary to what another review says, this book does NOT contain setlists from their shows. Rather it is a glorious picture painted via interviews conducted by Richard Gehr with PHiSH as he toured with them for over a year. What everyone else said: Awesome pictures. Hilarious stories. The stories about the '96 trip to Vegas are worth the price of admission. If only the Harpua had ended as Trey had envisioned...
Rating: Summary: The phirst person Phistory Review: Read it you wont be disappointed. this is redrocks THIS IS THE EDGE
Rating: Summary: Liquid music Review: The bass player in the band I play in is a major Phish-head, and I credit him with being the one to finally turn me on to Phish. Over the years, I've played with dozens of musicians who sang the praises of the jam band from Vermont, but I guess it took hearing that I "had to hear them" twenty times before I finally felt I really "had" to hear them. Well, now I'm one of those guys who says "you've got to" listen to Phish. Their music's quirky, spontaneous, thought-provoking, ridiculous, and incredibly fun, just like this book. In no ways a "comprehensive biography," THE PHISH BOOK instead illuminates the depths of Phish through isolated scuba dives into the individual and communal thought processes and attitudes of the four indivuals that make up Phish. If your attitude toward music (and life) is spontaneous and unstructured-or if you'd like to be more so-you gotta listen to Phish, man.

Rating: Summary: NOT a typical rock-n-roll book ... NOT a typical rock band! Review: The first thing you want to do when you get your hands on this book is flip through every single page and absorb all the amazing photographs. For those of us obsessed with the music of this remarkable band, the pictures of the early days and even those of more recent times are priceless. Combine all that with the free-form roundtable discussions of Trey, Mike, Page, and Jon and you've got a wonderful piece. This is not your typical rock-n-roll book -- no wild tales of scandal or debauchery on the road. Instead we gain real insight into the workings of one of the greatest live acts ever, from a band that's been around for nearly 15 years now. Co-author Gehr is to be commended. His insights are smart, his feelings genuine -- and he admirably keeps them to an absolute minimum, instead deferring to the band's own words for the majority of the book. An absolute must read for any fan of Phish. And if you are not a fan ... what are you waiting for?
Rating: Summary: Phishaliscious Review: This book is the ephinany of Phish- If you like this check out the Pharmers alamanac-There is no better! I would recommend this book to first time listeners and devoted alike- Lets go Phishin!!
Rating: Summary: A must-read for any Phish fan Review: Whether you first saw Phish in the cafeteria at Goddard College or the Lemonwheel, the Phish Book needs to be in your library. Gehr maintains an objectivity that is difficult when one realizes how much time he spent with Trey, Mike, Page & Jon. A great companion to the Almanac.
Rating: Summary: What the...? Review: You're not going to get heavy criticism in an autobiography, but you're also not getting excessive fluff here in The Phish Book, a combined effort of the band and noted music writer Richard Gehr (also known for his liner notes to the Phish tribute album Sharin' in the Groove). Lots of great photos, some interesting stories, and good fun - even a bit moving at points.
