Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Home Run!
Review: The "Heroes of the Faith" series is a collection of brief, engaging biographies of notable Christians. As such the quality of the book depends on the writer and the subject. Rachael M. Phillips is an excellent writer and Billy Sunday lived a fascinating life.

It is a shame that his story has been all but lost on this generation. He rose from a dysfunctional home to the stardom of professional baseball. However he carried his own dysfunction into stardom. A few years after his conversion to Christianity he began a new career and became the "Billy Graham" of his generation. Yet, no matter how popular he became, he remained earthy.

I recommend this book for everyone, but especially for boys age 10-15. Boys this age need heroes that have more depth than cartoon superheroes.
