Review: Sometimes boring, sometimes gripping,overall very interesting and informative. A thorough mix of personal and historical data that is a treat for a history buff, and surely a study for a behavioral psychologist. A good book for inclusion in any military library.

Review: The hero's extraordinary voyage through the far west and far east could have been brought to life with imaginative editing. Alas, what could have been an exciting historical read was a disappointment.
