Summary: Susan Jensen needs to read the rest of her Bible!!!!!!!!!!!!
Review: D.L. Moody had it ALL wrong! In the light of Matthew 16:18-19 what are the revivalists trying to revive?!? Then again He had no concept of the new disciples commitment to Christ as being an equal commitment to his brethren.
Obviously Susan Jensen hasn't read the rest of her Bible. When she reads (James 2:21 she'll learn more about Abraham) and when she reads (James 2:17 she'll learn that there's more to salvation/justification than Faith.)Is salvation really free? read Philippians 3:12-14 to find out. she may feel free to contact me at simon485192000@yahoo.com

Summary: Eric Burgess contradicts scripture
Review: I wrote this in response to Eric Burgess's response below. Let the reader understand, salvation is a gift from Christ Jesus to be accepted. You could never earn it. And we don't deserve it. Gods grace I think is so hard to relate to because there is nothing on earth to compare it too. We must acknowledge we are sinners, then We BELIEVE Christ died an atoning death for our sins. Believe in him and accept his gift to us, of our sin dept being paid. And that's how we are justified before God, we can't add anything to that. Other wise we would believe Christ's atoning death wasn't quite enough and we need our good works to save us. And thats not what the bible teaches, [Romans 4:4-5] Paul wrote the church in Rome a letter explaining this, and I guess some people still will not listen. Abraham believed the LORD and it was credited to him as righteousness. The thief on the cross demonstrates this well. The Bible verses that Eric Burgess referred to in Philippians deals with sanctification not salvation and until you understand the difference, Paul's letters won't make much sense to you. I would ask Eric to start a doctrinal study of Bible topics before commenting on scripture anymore. Knowing your a sinner, and that Gods wrath is on you, and then asking Jesus to come into your heart and save you from the wages of your sins, is all you need to do to receive his living water [John 4:10]. Jesus will then forgive you of your sins and clothe you in his righteousness and will send the Holy Spirit to seal you. Thats how you are saved. Its a trade, Jesus takes your sins [past, present and future.] and gives you his righteousness. And then realizing this wonderful, indescribable gift and love, we are then enabled to grow the "fruits of the spirit" that separates us from the world. We can then reflect Christ light to a world that so desperately needs it. Christians need to spend more time praying and listen to the LORD on the issues that mater most to him like loving God and our neighbor, by spreading the Good news that we don't have to pay the due penalty of our sins, which is death, that the LORD himself has paid our fine and set us FREE!!!!!!!

Summary: The Individualism taught by Moody contradicts Scripture
Review: In the light of Matthew 16:18-19 what are the revivalists trying to revive? Salvation takes effort Philippians 2:12, Philippians 3:12. And is accomplished within a community Matt 18:20/Galations 6:2. Salvation is communal because salvation is union with Christ Rom 6:1-5. As Christians we should have an equal commitment to our brethren as we do to Christ Matt 19:19, Mark 12:31. Unfortunatly, many believe the Bible is God-given and the Church man-made. Yet St. Paul refutes this in 1 Tim 3:14-15.
