Rating: Summary: Spine Chilling! Review: I also read this book years ago in my early teens. As an adult, this book has left a large impression on my mind. I would recommend it to anyone who is interested in psychology or serial killers.
Rating: Summary: Horrible. Simply horrible. Review: I know Maria Fasching's sister, and knowing that someone is making money off her loss is sickening. This man should have been castrated and sent to prison, not to a mental care facility where he has cable television and other amenities. No matter how the author couches the story, she is a bi-pedal lamprey sucking money from the corpses of Kallinger's victims.
Rating: Summary: NEEDS TO BE REPRINTED FOR NEW AUDIENCE Review: I, too, read this book long ago - in my early 20's - and have never been able to forget it. Unfortunately i judge other books weak in comparison. I still wonder if this guy is locked up, and what happened to his poor kid? He is now an adult - and a good cause for worry. It should be deemed a classic in this genre, and kept on the shelves.
Rating: Summary: The anatomy of a psychotic good review to read Review: This book I think is awesome just because i know my mother lived next to this man and i was eager to see what it was like great book
Rating: Summary: The Anatomy of a Psychotic!!! Review: This is truly a shocking true story of a split-personality and his horrifying secret life of rape and murder. Written by Flora Rheta Schreiber, who also wrote "Sybil," she actually met this man and penned his story.
It's a classic story of why a man murders, and it grips you unforgettably in its violent descriptions.
Joseph Kallinger's life was more than a modern gothic horror tale, and his early childhood probably contributed to what he was going to ultimately become.
The book is split up into a number of books. Book One is "Childhood;" Book Two is "the Family Dream;" Book Three is "Descent into Hell;" Book Four is "The Massacre of Mankind;" and Book Five is "Out of the World Forever." There are also poems at the end by Joseph Kallinger, and notes from the author.
A Chilling and Compelling Read!! Arm Yourselves for this!!
