Rating: Summary: A Sense of the Past Working through the Present Review: "In his book Someone Else's Yesterday, Jeffrey J Keene takes us on a journey into the past which appears to draw uncanny parallels with the author's present. After having a 'strange' experience on the battlefield at Antietam, where a Confederate General John B Gordon was wounded; a series of events take over, leading Jeffrey J Keene to discover that he bears an almost unearthly resemblance to that same General. Keene also found that events in his life also mirrored many of those of General John B Gordon. As the tale unfolds, it is shown that not only does the author undeniably look like John B Gordon, some of his present day friends also bear striking resemblances to the long since deceased acquaintances of the General. Therefore this is not simply another story of reincarnation, but one which adds a whole new dimension to the topic as a whole. Could it be that we reincarnate together and maintain our previous contacts in our present and future? Someone Else's Yesterday is a work that hardened skeptics will always find a way to dismiss, arguing that any present day parallels could be explained away by statistics, probability and coincidence. However what the critics cannot deny is the obvious level of passion, dedication and historical research that has gone into bringing the reader a book full of amazing present and past parallels. A book more than worthy of further investigation, a book where General John B Gordon's past really does seem to work on through Jeffrey J Keene's present." By Karyn Easton author Paranormality! Rating: Summary: Halloween Revelations Review: "My journey of discovery has been long and extraordinary. It has taken me on forays into the distant past, which led to an introspective analysis of myself and a good look at our world today." ~Jeffrey J. KeeneThis is a fascinating book about a man who shows all the evidence of having lived in a past life. His facial architecture, personality traits, dreams, aptitudes, interests and writing style point to reincarnation. While I'm not fully convinced that reincarnation occurs for all of us, it does seem that some souls might return to earth on special missions. How else can you explain this book? Jeffrey was living his life as an Assistant Fire Chief in Connecticut, when suddenly one day changed his life. A Halloween party in 1992 revealed some unsettling facts about his life and possibly his past life. This discovery led him on a 10-year odyssey to gather official records, wartime reports and even letters. During this time, he uncovered a number of startling parallels between his life and that of General Gordon. Frankly, they are pretty compelling to read about. What will send chills up your spine is the picture of John B. Gordon and Jeffrey J. Keene. They have the exact same "look in their eyes," not to mention facial structure. But this is not all. There are three other examples of similar facial structures and experiences with living in a past life. The pictures of Confederate Gen. Cadmus Wilcox and Firefighter Wayne R. Zaleta are pictures worth seeing. The story really starts before the Halloween party. After feeling compelled to visit a battlefield, Jeffrey goes through an emotional episode where grief, sadness and anger wash over him when he reaches a certain part of the battlefield. When he goes to the Halloween party he finds out that he had a very rare "simian line" running across his hand. He then explained the feelings he had at the battlefield and the palm reader bluntly said: "That's because you died there." Was she correct? The simian line is one of the most interesting aspects of this book because in itself, it is a rare line that runs across the hand. It replaces the heart and head line. Often people with Simian lines will spend their lives seeking answers they never find. Many of the bearers of this line are also supremely intelligent, ambitious and capable people and have made a positive contribution to history. They can also feel a lot of tension and internal pressure as they experience everything in an acute way. Apparently British Prime Minister Tony Blair has simian lines on both his hands. This line can also be found on the hands of very creative artists and musicians. When you see this line in a picture, it does startle you. It also startled the palm reader at the Halloween Party. I am sure she was just there for fun and then she saw Jeff Keene's hand. What happens next is best told by the author. This story seems to have significance in the field of parapsychology and is interesting from the perspective of coincidence not being so coincidental. I found this book to be very well written and extremely interesting from a historical perspective. Jeffrey Keene is now an accomplished Civil War researcher and speaker. He now lectures on Civil War topics. If you are interested in the Civil War or Reincarnation, this book is sure to intrigue you. Jeffrey J. Keene's story has been featured in "Beyond Death," a documentary feature by the Arts & Entertainment Network. ...

Rating: Summary: Fascinating Civil War past life story. Review: Keene's book is perhaps the most important book you will ever read. Period. If you want the best and the strongest physical evidence for the existence of life after death, Jeffrey Keene's book will provide it to you. If you have doubts about reincarnation, this book will remove all your doubts. Keene's excellent book documents his amazing discovery of his past life as a Civil War soldier. After reading the verifiable evidence he presents, you will forever be a believer in life after death. His ground-breaking discovery and research is so fascinating that it was profiled in an A&E cable documentary. What makes his account so unique is that he did not discover the evidence for a past life using hypnotic regression like others have. Keene had no choice between accepting the reality of a past life or not accepting it. Keene's discovery of his past life came from his own life experience that involved a series of unusual synchronistic events. He did not seek this experience. This experience sought him. Over time, Keene's amazing life experience would continue to reinforce the reality of his connection to the past, even before he became convinced of it himself. He was not given the luxury of choice in this matter and this is one reason that makes his experience and evidence so credible. Whether you are a believer in reincarnation or not, you will find Keene's book to be one of the best books you will every read. It is filled with hope and filled with facts that strongly suggests that life continues after death. I highly recommend this book! Kevin Williams, "Near-Death Experiences and the Afterlife", ...
Rating: Summary: Absolutely fascinating, past life recollection Review: Someone Else's Yesterday is a most fascinating past-life account of the author, Jeffrey J. Keene, and his past life recollections as John B. Gordon, a confederate general. I must start out by saying that I absolutely do not like reading anything to do with history, so I was very hesitant at first to begin this book. I am, though, very interested in past life material and gave it a go. I was very pleasantly surprised as I was unable to put the book down and finished it within 24 hours!! Keene's fascination began as he had a very strange experience while visiting a battlefield at Antietam, coincidently, the very same battlefield on which General Gordon was wounded. Shortly thereafter, a chance meeting with a psychic at a party, led him to further delve into the Civil War past and his connection with General Gordon. Not only are the pictures of both Keene and Gordon incredibly and uncannily striking, but the fact that they both share the same six placement of scars on their bodies just adds that much more credibility to the entire story. Keene presents such compelling evidence, that one comes away with wonderment. Even parallels with their writing styles is pretty incredible! Dr. Brian Weiss, in his books on past lives, also stated as does Jeffrey Keene stated, that soul groups tend to reincarnate in groups, and that it is not uncommon to find members of the same family as well as close friends, together over multiple life times. Ironically, or maybe not - several of the men in Keene's department, also share incredible striking resemblances to other confederate men who were with General Gordon during the Civil War. The author has done a thorough job researching General John B. Gordon, tracing his lineage as a boy growing up in Georgia, all the way through his death in 1904. Keene, not being content with the obvious, delved as deeply as possible into as much of General Gordon's entire life history as he was able. Visiting as many places and battlefields as he could, the parallels between both lives are pretty remarkable and the evidence seems so overwhelming. The historical writings were a fascinating read, much to my surprise! I think that it is important to note here that Jeffrey Keene did not go searching for any of this to happen to him. Keene's skepticism of hypnotic regression was also not an option for him to explore in further pursuing his recalls. Instead it was through Keene's memories, which started to come through along with unexplained happenings and feelings, which prompted him to further investigate and explore it all on his own for himself. Even though Keene was skeptical at first, the more he investigated and researched General Gordon, that the parallels started to become clearer and clearer. The book is written with intelligence and sensitivity and it is Keene's insight that we much more than our bodies which allows him to delve with an open mind and with much insight into his past life research. Not only is this a great book for civil war buffs, but also for those who are fascinated in past life recall. Keene now has also become a much sought after lecturer on the Civil war and his research is most extensive. I found this book to be quite extraordinary from several different angles and it would be really hard for one to dismiss Keene's account at all. Letters are also included in the book from others who have been touched by the media documenting Jeffrey Keene and these others past life recall is fascinating and compelling. I do believe that skeptics would be pleasantly surprised as well. Looking at one's own life, including my own, where one has an affinity for a particular place, country, ethnic group or even for a "collection" of objects, or feeling that "one has been here before", are subtle clues reaching from beyond to remind us that we are much more than our present bodies. As our minds and thinking become more open, I do believe that we are better able to access portions of ourselves that were previously closed down. "We are all here for a purpose although we many not be aware of that it is. There could by many reasons; to learn lessons, pay back debts to other souls or to serve as an example for others. This list has no end. I believe I am performing one of my requirements at this very moment by writing this book." This book is amazing and it is one of the best books on past life recall that I have ever read. One also cannot help to be drawn to the author, his experiences, his research, and his insight as well. Many questions can be raised in one's own life and probably will! "No one ever dies (at least not in the way many perceive death here on Earth), and Love lasts forever." Incredible and amazing book in every which way!

Rating: Summary: Gripping, informative, and thought provoking... Review: This book is incredible. Not only does it provoke thought about the true nature of the human soul, it is full of historical substance with the potential to bring us all to a better understanding of one of the most heart-wrenching periods in our nation's history.
Rating: Summary: Intrigueing & Interesting Review: This book provides a fascinating journey through one man's experience with reincarnation. Whether you are a "believer" or not, Jeff Keene's carefully written personal account of his past life experiences as a confederate general are interesting. He also provides a different type of historical perspective on the Northen war of aggression through both pairs of eyes: Confederate and Yankee. Mr. Keene's writing style is straightforward and clean, making this a pleasure to read. And he gets extra credit for meticulous historical annotations, and adding several appendices that provide valuable background on General Gordon. If there was a weakness, it may lie in Mr. Keene's projection of reincarnation onto others through comparing old photographs from the civil war to contemporary images of his co-workers. While the physical similarities he illistrates are striking, they pale in comparison to his own remarkable personal journey of discovery. This book will make a great summer read for teenagers and adults-and is a must-have for anyone interested in past lives.
