Summary: Sit down, have some tea
Review: Lonnie Lane invites you to sit down over a cup of tea while she tells you about her warm and wonderful family and their spiritual journeys. Her own spritual journey begins on a trip to Israel with her synagogue. There, she begins questioning the veracity of the Jewish Scriptures; were they a bunch of folk tales or did God really speak to His people? Moreover, does God speak to people today, or are people who claim to hear God's voice meshumed (crazy)? Her thirst for a relationship with the living God is met in a quiet, amazing way. Lonnie finds the Jewish Messiah, Yeshua. One by one, her entire family follows her to Yeshua Ha'mashiach (Jesus, the Messiah).

Lonnie Lane is a natural storyteller and "Because They Never Asked"is a pleasure to read. The story is told in a series of vignettes and is never preachy. I recommend this book to Jews and non-Jews alike.
