Rating: Summary: Beautifully published, Beautifully written Review: A daughter writes a painful but beautiful, story of what it means to make the worst of times ( her mother , dying ) into a lesson in love, courage and truth. For what it's worth, I meant to start the book and read it as time permitted, but it was impossible to stop. Brady's experience shows that a family's darkest times can bring incredible insight and revelation, and yes...., bliss.

Rating: Summary: grace in dying Review: I FIND THIS BOOK LIKE SOMEONE HOLDING A LANTERN UP ON A NEIGHBORING MOUNTAIN.... SAYING, 3LOOK OVER HERE.2 MS. BRADY OFFERS AN HONEST AND NOBLE PATH TO FOLLOW IN ORDER TO HELP THOSE WE LOVE DIE WITH THEIR SPIRIT INTACT. I LIKE THE QUOTES THAT HIGHLIGHT EVERY CHAPTER WITH A SORT OF WISDOM OF THE SOUL THAT REMINDS US NOT TO GET LOST IN OUR OWN GRIEF BUT RATHER STAY FOCUSED ON THE GIFTS OF LOVE AND CLARITY WE CAN BRING TO OUR DEAR ONES AS THEY FACE THE END OF THEIR LIVES. I NOT ONLY FELT I HAD BEEN GIVEN THE COURAGE TO HANDLE DEATH WITH ANOTHER, BUT ALSO, THE COURAGE TO FACE THE NECESSARY LOSSES THAT I MUST FACE IN EACH STAGE OF MY LIFE.

Rating: Summary: Beautifully published, Beautifully written Review: This beautifully published book, liberally sprinkled with the author's own watercolor paintings, speaks to all of us who have lost a loved one to cancer. This book is a compilation of family and personal history and excerpt from Ms. Brady's personal journal during her mother's illness. Joan Brady and her siblings sought to heal their relationships while assisting their mother in her last months , and they effected a healing for all. A beautiful testimony.
Rating: Summary: Slow reading. Rambling at times. Review: This book was okay. To me it read slow and she rambled. I think there was too much concentration on the background of "Mommy" and her childhood, therefore the story gets lost on the author's reminiscing. The plus side, it's the story of the mother/daughter realtionship and how that progresses.
Rating: Summary: When love guides your life, beauty happens. Review: This is a gem of a book. It is one of those gifts that comes into your life to remind you what truly is important. Thank you to the author for the beautiful words and exquisite paintings.
