Rating: Summary: Fantastic Read! Review: This is one of the best and most special books I have read. Katie Lee really gives you the experience of Glen Canyon--it's beauty, wildness, and uniqueness. I fell in love with the place through her words, and felt her loss deeply when the damn dam was built. This act (the building of the dam) was truly a dark time in our history. I thank Katie Lee for sharing her thoughts and feelings and cheer her for her openness in those closed times.
Rating: Summary: Gone-- fortunately not forgotten Review: With "All My Rivers Are Gone," Katie Lee sweeps readers away to a marvelous land of wind and rock and water. As we laugh and marvel at her adventures in the canyons of the Colorado River, we also come to mourn with her for the loss of the drowned Glen Canyon, the very heart of the Colorado Plateau. Katie's prose is as fresh and original as she is: an unforgettable character of honest passion for the river and canyon she loved so well. The wit and candor that Katie brings to this memoir seduce the reader even as the river called to her with its siren call (though Katie's river is very much a male). One cannot come away from this book without being touched, feeling that the loss of Glen Canyon has reduced us all.
