Summary: It's just "Reefer Madness"
Review: And you shouldn't inhale.
Several reviewers have ecstatically proclaimed this book and movie to be an eye-opening, truth-revealing work, but those who are credulous enough to think they learn history through agenda-focused books and films like "Hunting" need to go back and see other "documentaries" like "Triumph Of The Will", "The Eternal Jew" or "Reefer Madness".
Let's be honest, people.
This book was written by a strongly pro-Clinton columnist and the movie was produced by well-known FOB (Friend Of Bill) Harry Thompson. It's about as objective as the factually challenged "Fahrenheit 9/11", a work that Moore himself now calls "satire". By the way, many Middle Easterners who have seen Moore's movie are outraged at the shallow, stereotypical and racist image he presented of their people and culture.
You didn't know that, did you?
The point is, whether intentional or just laziness these dime-a-dozen political books typically contain significant misrepresentations. If you're already a member of the author's congregation, you won't care. You'll shout "hallelujah!" and say that "Hunting" has given the world Great Truths. But clear thinkers understand that it's foolish to uncritically accept the representations in either this book or the followup movie.

Summary: What trash
Review: Anyone with half a brain knows how badly Clinton screwed up his Presidency and how much of a felon he was.

This guy cut a swath through women in Arkansas and D.C. and it was an unwelcome and unwanted swath. Sexual harrassment and rape were the tools he used and it is too bad the liberal news media spiked these stories to keep him in office. They were drug kicking and screaming to the Lewinsky story and the sad thing is that Lewinsky was the tip of the iceberg.

From Africa to Croatia to the ME, President Clinton fumbled and bumbled his way through his 8 years. He had absolutely no foreign policy and it showed as woefully inadequate everytime he tried to make some kind of lasting foreign policy legacy. He campaigned for the Nobel Peace Prize to which most of the voters said, "What did you do?" Nothing. No Peace Prize for you The Great Rapist.

What is sad is people keep trying to portray it as some partisan attack to get him for 10 years. Sadly, that would only be true if the accusations were false. Even more sadly, all of the accusations were true.

Bill Clinton: Not our worst President, but Jimmy Carter and Warren Harding are feeling his breath on their necks.

Summary: Who needs this?
Review: Who cares about the Clinton's anyways? This book blames the downfall of the Clintons on the GOP, isn't that who Democrats blame everything on? YAP YAP YAP. The Conservatives really destroyed Clinton. Yeah. . . RIGHT! Former President Clinton destroyed himself when he claimed, "I didn't have sexual relationships with that woman." Ok, her name is Monica not "that women" How disrespectful! Anyways, a real feminist would have divorced a cheating scumbag like Clinton. Hillary only stayed with him because she has more power that way. I'd recommend reading The Hillary Trap by Laura Ingraham before you read this junk. You could find the same crap in the cheap magazines that say mermaids exist! Overall, this book blames those "filthy conservatives" for all the world's problems because the liberals can't blame themselves for the problems they got themselves into. Clinton has been digging a hole for himself and Hillary ever since he got into office, and this is apparently the only excuse he can come up with.

Summary: Superb Investigative Reporting
Review: THE HUNTING OF THE PRESIDENT describes, in shattering and infuriating detail, how the Republican Party spent more than $70,000,000 of our tax money in a ten year crusade to bring down Bill and Hillary Clinton. The fact that the campaign ultimately failed does not make the attempt any less odious. A remarkably well funded cabal of Clinton-hating obsessives (many of them with strictly personal grudges against the man) utilized intensely hate-filled and slanderous smear techniques that had never before been seen in such a widely organized manner. This book makes a strong case that there was indeed a vast right-wing conspiracy behind it all. But, as authors Joe Conason and Gene Lyons reveal, the smear attack would have gone nowhere without the full culpability of the media. Magazines, newspapers and TV/Radio stations quickly jumped on and promoted every deliberately planted innuendo, rumor, and false allegation, happily spreading each juicy and slanderous tidbit to a gullible public. When the great majority of these wild tales were proven to be devoid of any semblance of truth, few of these media outlets could be bothered to offer retractions. Even today, "journalists" still try to use the long-ago destroyed myth of Whitewater as some kind of indicator/proof of Clinton's alleged evil.

Conason and Lyons have given us one of the great works of modern investigative reporting, fully revealing all the major players who funded and/or assisted the campaign, including Richard Mellon Scaife, Reverend Moon, and the odious Ann Coulter, as well as a slew of corrupt politicians, state troopers, and women with shady pasts who, rather predictably, all ended up much richer for their time and efforts.

THE HUNTING OF THE PRESIDENT has recently been adapted into a much praised documentary film. However excellent the cinematic version could very well turn out to be, nothing can beat this amazingly powerful book. It's a gripping and downright frightening glimpse into the twisted minds of a small but powerful group of men and women who were willing to do just about anything to bring about the downfall of one of our finest presidents. Highly recommended.
