Summary: Surprisingly Touching
Review: I was given this book and read it because I ran out of books to read. I ended up loving the book and Loretta's insight and ability to see herself and where she came from without criticism of that former person. Anyone would enjoy this book, even if, like me, you aren't a country music fan.

Summary: she is the best
Review: I WAS SO GLAD TO SEE LORETTA WRITE ANOTHER BOOK. I LOOK TO SEE THIS AT THE TOP OF ALL THE BESTSELLER LISTS. THIS BOOK I COULD NOT PUT DOWN. I FINISHED IT TOO FAST AND I AM GETTING READY TO READ IT AGAIN.NOBODY CAN TELL A LORETTA LYNN STORY LIKE LORETTA LYNN HERSELF. THIS IS JUST THE BEST BOOK THAT I HAVE READ IN A LONG TIME. THIS BOOK IS A MUST FOR ALL.

Summary: As Honest as the Day is Long...
Review: In the follow up to Coal Miner's Daughter, we learn more of Loretta's relationship with her now deceased husband, Doolittle Lynn. As the explores the painful history of their lives, complete with alcoholism, abuse, and infidelity, it becomes very clear, that in their case, love truly does conquer all. Loretta also explores the loss of her husband, her son, and many other close friends and family. But don't get me wrong, she's not whining or feeling sorry for herself. She's telling her life the way it happened. I thoroughly enjoyed this book

Summary: A sad, shocking story
Review: Like so many other people I enjoyed Coal Miner's Daughter and found it an inspiring rags-to-riches story. Now that Loretta Lynn's husband has died, she has written a new memoir about the later years of her life. But the shocking part of this book is the stories Loretta left out of Coal Miner's Daughter about her horribly violent marriage. She also relates the terrible effect her husband's alcoholism and abuse had on her children. I must say I have far less respect for Loretta after reading this book - it's one thing to say that marriage is for better or for worse if you are the only sufferer, but I cannot believe any wealthy woman could make this choice for her children.

Summary: LORETTA IS STILL WOMAN ENOUGH AS SHE SHOW'S US ALL AGAIN
Review: Loretta Lynn was really pushed into writing "Coal Miner's Daughter" she was only a Mother and wife and only been singing
for less then 14 years when it was said the book would come out she did it anyway and it became a number #1 like there was dought.... lol here LORETTA IS BACK AGAIN SOME 25 YEARS LATER
AND A LIFETIME OF PAIN AND JOYS SHE ONLY REALLY TOUCHES THE SURFACE HERE IN "STILL WOMAN ENOUGH" THERE IS A LOT MORE AS LORETTA HAS STATED. BUT WILL WE SEE ANOTHER BOOK ? THIS BOOK HAS MADE THE TOP 10 BEST SELLER BOOK FOR OVER 10 WEEKS THE HEARTACH,PAIN AND JOYS OF THIS BELOVED COUNTRY QUEEN COME ALIVE ONCE AGAIN IN "STILL WOMAN ENOUGH" FROM THE DEATHS IN HER FAMILY TO THE PAIN AND JOYS OF MARRIAGE TO THE HEARTACH OF BEING ON THE ROAD TO MISSING YOUR CHILDREN GROWUP. TO THE RECORDING RIGHTS CONTRACT THE SHE HAD TO FIGHT FOR YEARS. AFTER ALL THE MONEY AND THE PAIN AND JOYS AND TEARS LORETTA HAS SAID SHE WOULD NOT DO IT AGAIN SHE WOULD JUST BE A GOOD MOTHER AND WIFE.FUNNY I THOUGHT LORETTA WAS AND IS A GOOD MOTHER AND WIFE. IF NOTHIN ELSE WE LEARN FROM LORETTA THAT BELIVING IN YOURSELF AND HAVING FAITH,FAMILY,FRIENDS AND LOVE AND A GOOD SENSE OF YOUR SELF. YOU TOO COULD BECOME HAPPY AND LOVED JUST MY BEING YOU. AND IF NOT SHOW THEM ALL YOU ARE STILL WOMAN ENOUGH "or man enough" LOL.

Summary: Entertaining, honest, and told from her heart.
Review: Loved that the book was written in her own words, humor, and heartache. She has amazing courage to tell so much, so honestly.
She's a lady you would love to just sit down and visit with for a few hours/days and you feel like you were given the opportunity as you read this great book.

Summary: Loretta the Enabler
Review: Many years ago I enjoyed and learned from the author's first book. I can say the same for this one.

In babyhood, Loretta was clobbered over the head---accidentally---by a neighbor that I suspect was drunk, although the author leaves that to speculation. Loretta's parents could not afford medical help for their baby. Loretta suffered for years. Yet today Loretta Lynn campaigns for Republicans who oppose tax-funded health care for the indigent. In her book, Loretta declares, "If I was dying of cancer, I'd steal pain medicine as fast as I stole the watermelons all those years ago."

Despite Loretta's political contradictions, her honesty in relating her role as an enabler (a term she never used in the book) for a substance abuser may benefit other enablers. When hard-core enablers look in the mirror, they will see Loretta Lynn's sorrowful eyes. Her devotion to the alcoholic she married when she was thirteen years old is a mystery to me: "...a drunkard's dream if I ever did see one!" (Quote is from a song called "Up On Cripple Creek;" NOT by Loretta Lynn.)

Summary: Wow!
Review: Ms. Cox did an excellent job of capturing Loretta Lynn's voice, and what a story. Loretta laid bare her feelings and gave her opinions without concern of how others might perceive her. This well-written book makes readers feel like we're sitting across the table as Loretta talks to us.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Already cliche but true nonetheless, this is a GREAT READ!!!
Review: My only wonder now that I have read this fun and insightful book is: Are they going to make a film out of this one? Looks like Sissy better start getting ready again, wouldn't it be amazing if the wins another oscar playing a character she has already played and won for, well if any actress can it is Sissy and if any story has the possibily it is Loretta's.
