But this story was so interesting. Loretta's story is an inspiration, she had more than her share of heartache and hardship even after becoming a great country music star.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: A great book from a great lady! Review: I really enjoyed reading this book. I found it very hard to put down. The book is written the way Loretta talks because Loretta wanted it that way. I am glad she did! Loretta talks of friends and family. She speaks of good times and bad times. Loretta also talks about the price of fame. Some may think Loretta leads a glamorous life, but you'll see from this book that it is not always easy to be "The Coal Miner's Daughter". Loretta talks about many struggles she has faced, but her humor can be found in this book as well. In the end, Loretta is shown to be a very courageous and inspiring lady who is indeed "Still Woman Enough"!

Review: I really enjoyed reading this great book. And I am moved by her devotion to nursing her husband for years who had been ill with heart and diabetes related problems and died in 1996. It's a pity that they had not known about a herbal formula that was discovered in 1994 and can cure diabetes. I really wish Ms.Loretta Lynn could be informed about this message and be happy to know that a cure for diabetes has been found.

What I like about Loretta is that what you see is what you get. She is honest and open and has had her share of heartache. I suspect that is why people can relate to her and her music. I loved Loretta's stories about George Jones, Conway Twitty, and Patsy Cline. The book is written as Loretta would speak it. (She talks about how her family could have used 'thurpy') It makes it easy to picture Lorette speaking the words of her story directly to you. I give this book 5 stars.

LORETTA WAS BRUTALLY HONEST IN THIS MEMOIR AND HELD NO PUNCHES (AT TIMES-LITERALLY!) AN AMAZING STORY OF A STRONG AND HARD-WORKING WOMAN. SHE IS THE FIRST ONE TO ADMIT THAT HER FAMILY LIFE WITH HER CHILDREN SUFFERED, AND SHE MUST HAVE BEEN A SAINT TO EVER PUT UP WITH HER HUSBAND'S ADULTRY AND SQUANDERING OF THE MONEY SHE WORKED SO HARD FOR, ALL THE WHILE STAYING FAITHFUL TO HIM. LORETTY....GOD BLESS YA!

Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Where's the rest of the book? Review: I was born in Paintsville and have been to Butcher Holler a few times. The way Loretta writes, I can hear her telling the whole story. It is like she just sat down next to me, and we are chatting over coffee. She writes with the same accent she talks with, and that is comforting, because it is the accent I got teased about growing up. She does a good job of portraying Doolittle as real instead of the one sided person many see him as. The book is filled with laughter, which is great, because it helped me quit crying every other page.

I ended up loving the book and Loretta's insight and ability to see herself and where she came from without criticism of that former person. Anyone would enjoy this book, even if, like me, you aren't a country music fan.
