Rating: Summary: Too interlectual in its writing.. not hip hop friendly Review: Im only half way through "Rebel for the hell of it" and Im finding it really difficult to read. In the introduction, its written that this book is dedicated to hip hop fans as well as Tupac fans. I have not found this book easy to read and therefore not enjoyable yet.
Rating: Summary: This book is a intelectual view of Tupac's life Review: In this ook the story of tupac's life is explained and it even tells about his background
Rating: Summary: 2PAC WAS A GOOD MAN NO MATTER WHAT ANYBPDY SAYS Review: Many peole put 2pac down because they thought he was a bad perosn , this is not true at all 2pac was one of the best rapper i heard to express the real life about his self and were he came from. He of have talked bout women being hoes and bitches but he was only taking what he saw and and put it in his music. 2pac was crticized by the meadia alot when he was in jail and lable him as a gangster but what the meadia didn't understand is that he did alot for his black brothers and sisters and for his community. Now that he is gone people r remembering his nmae more and every time u look around u hear his name. I listen to 2pac alot and i'm one of his greatest fan. As for the book i think it was great and it really showed the real of 2pac shakur.
Rating: Summary: Brit version is the best book I ever read about rap. Review: Rebel for the Hell of It brings Tupac back alive. Not only that, it makes the era of hiphop something that is vastly readable and understandable. It is also a professional work of criticism. Pay no attention to those other books that just want to idolize and make money off Tupac. Armond White takes Tupac and hiphop music serious! This books will last longer than many rap records. It's the complete, uncensored version. I love it.
Rating: Summary: tupac shakur was a great loss to the rap fans every were Review: Rebel for the hell of it was a great book. Tupac Shakur was in my eyes the greatest rapper ever in the book it states that tupac told a'' Reverend Daughtry he wanted to be a revolutionary'' & indeed he was he spoke truth in his songs many people try & ignore the problems in todays society but it is or own ignorance that makes people criticiez people like 2pac who speak the truth we can not face .People speak of the gangsta' he was maybe so but do they know of his childhood he studied ballet & drama & like his mother Afeni & stepfather Mutulu Shakur two Blackpanther activist he wanted his life to have meaning which I think it did .Wether you love him or hate him he was a great rapper & no one can take that away wether he's dead or alive.Admiration to the strength of Afeni she let him go as stated in the book''every time they revived him he just went back. And I asked them to leave him alone & let him go.I really felt it was important for tupac, who foughtso hard for a free spirit.I thought it was important for his spirit to be allowed free. I rejoiced with him & the release of his spirit'' these are the words of Afeni. So I would say to any one read this book wether your a fan or not it might just change your mind about 2pac. R.I.P TUPAC AMARU SHAKUR

Rating: Summary: Lacks a lot of information Review: The author should have made more research before he wrote this book. He also expresses his own opinions about Tupac's music too much. He shouldn't do that if he wants this book to be a biography. I don't even think the author listens to hip-hop himself. Don't buy this book.
Rating: Summary: This was a terrible book!!! Review: The book provided little if no concrete insight into the man's life. If your interested in the words of Tupac's songs - and an author's interpetation of those words then buy this book; if your interested in substance please do not waste your time. I am amazed that a publishing house would release such work!!!
Rating: Summary: A must-read! Review: This book depicts Tupac Shakur in a great way. I am a big fan of literature and Tupac Shakur, and this is a great book.
Rating: Summary: Tupac should haunt the author Review: This book did no justice to Tupac. It was more of analysis of his songs not of him. It no real research done in it. It also had some stuff and Biggie Smalls. The title should have been a "poor atempt to anylise Tupac's songs." Do not get this book it is not worth it.
