Rating: Summary: Good Clean Dirt... Review: Well, maybe not clean but still good. Whether you're a fan of Motley Crue or just an avid reader. This book is one that cannot be put down once you pick it up. It took me a few days to read the entire book and I am about to re-read it. This book will shock you, make you laugh, and make you cry. I sure hope there is a going to be a "DIRT #2". Hats off to Motley Crue & Neil Strauss for putting this together. I encourage everyone to pick up this book.
Rating: Summary: Intense Review: I read your book guys, unable to put it down read it in one day. I just congradulate you all, and say you have'nt quite shocked me, but, the book is a good book, ( having been around you in the early days in Glendora, Whiskey, Roxy, etc. 81-85) I'm still speachless. Congradulations, on the book and on hanging in there, thru those years! Good Luck to all of you.
Rating: Summary: The Dirt Review: The most amazing book I've read in years. I could not put it down. Captivating, tear-jerking, hysterical, and exciting..this book is a must read.
Rating: Summary: A five star book by a five star band!! Review: I am a Motley Crue fan. However, even if you are not, I promise you, you will not be able to put this book down. Those of you who own ANY of Motley's albums, heard any of their music, or read about any of their exploits in the news will love this book (isn't that pretty much everyone?). The book is a very honest look at the band, their history, their music, their exploits,(of course their women),and each other written by themselves in their own words. I can't tell you what an enjoyable reading experience this is. I guarantee you will walk away with something from this book. While Tommy and Vince are always in the media spotlight, I walked away with a profound respect for Nikki and Mick. I am not kidding when I say you will laugh, be disgusted, and cry when you read this book. Some of the material is very personal and you can tell the band put some serious thought behind this. Rest assured, this is not your typical autobiography. Thank you guys for a great book! I know it wasn't easy to write about some of this stuff!!
Rating: Summary: WHAT A READ!!!!!!!! Review: If you are a Crue fan (like me) you will love this book! I have been a fan for years and thought I knew it all. What a suprise. This band is the all time party band! Never ending drugs, sex, and music, damn what a good time. Ever since I saw their video "Too young to fall in love", I knew then that they were great. This book is the "ideal" rock star tale. Mick is a man of few words, Tommy is the good guy, Vince is the sex king, and Nikki (my favorite and always will be my love)is the troubled, crazy, insane, master planner of domonating the rock world. A must read.
Rating: Summary: BULLWINKLE ROCKS Review: If you have read the book, you'll know who Bullwinkle was... There is no doubt in my mind that when I received THE DIRT, I was going to be amuzed. I was more than that. I was awestruck as to the things I DIDN'T know about this band. To think I thought I was a CRUE HEAD. I found myself anwswering my own questions to the things I was "green" with. WOW. I absolutely could not put this book down. If you have followed THE CRUE since the beginning or since the days of FEELGOOD, whenever you began your passion for this decadent life long, way of expression, you need to read "THE DIRT". What else can be said about this gang, full of hair dye, chainsaws, makeup, fire, leather, groupies, 2 and 3 day-ers, unbelieveable. Check their website if you are not aware ofit:... Thank you Nikki, Tommy, Mick, Vince. A job well done.
Rating: Summary: This the craziest book I have ever read!!!!!!!!! Wow!!! Review: Im not the biggest Motley Crue fan in the world. I always preferd Metallica, AC/DC and grunge. But, I decided to pick up this book on a friends advice and Ill tell you what, to my suprise I could not put thing down. It is like a crazy Hollywood movie and yet these guys lived through this crazy lifestyle. Some very cool stories. The only album I really liked from Motley was Shout at the Devil, but after reading this book I actually went out and bought three more albums from this band, because anyone is crazy as these guys, deserves more credit in my opinon.
Rating: Summary: Bible of Rock? Nah, it's the bible of Crue! Review: After 2 hours of reading, I just had to go the supermarket and grab me a bottle of Jack Daniels. Dudes, get ready for a f'd up ride! What an incredible book. I can't stop talking about at work. I'm in my mid-thirties now feeling old, tired, like my time has past, after reading half of the book, I was invincible again. Reading the book is like the first time I listened to Motley Crue.... Heavy, loud, raw, crude, rude, adrenalinal (ANY power words will fit).... And when you're done reading, you find that you just can't get enough and you start all over again (just like that first cassette tape). Hey, long live rock and roll, long live Motley Crue! (Incredible how they lived this long...)
Rating: Summary: Let the truth be known... Review: Motley Crue's book The Dirt lets fans be known the truth of their lives! Vince, Tommy, Nikki, Mick and the year of John held nothing back! I find it very refreshing to read the ups and downs of Rock n' Rollers! After reading this book, I have a new understanding how quickly you can rise and fall in Rock n' Roll. I found it particlularly amazing that after all the booze and drug abuse their stories, though told over and over by each member, were basically the same.
Rating: Summary: REAL ROCK AND ROLL EXPOSED Review: WHAT AN AWESOME READ! I COULDN'T PUT IT DOWN, AND FINISHED IT IN ABOUT 4.5 HOURS FLAT!!! I LAUGHED SO HARD AT SOME OF NIKKI'S EARLY ANTICS...TO THINK...NIKKI SIXX A NERD---NO WAY!!! HE'S STILL MY ROCK AND ROLL HERO AND SEXY WITH IT! LONG LIVE ROCK!
