Summary: As always with the Crue...good entertainment
Review: This was a very entertaining read. I only give it 3 stars though because I'm a huge motley collector since 1983 and most of this book is old news. Plus it doesn't ask enough tough questions--and get the answers. Last time I saw them (Phoenix, AZ) they started a riot, fans got hurt, and Nikki and Tommy were arrested. Nikki laughs and says that's what rock n roll is about. No Nikki, that's not a cool thing to do. And the author should have called you on some of the nonsense you've said. Not doing enough to hold the band accountable is a biggie in my opinion. Other than this flaw though, the book is well written. I like that each member gets to say their piece. Check it out!

Summary: All Hail the Metal Morons!!
Review: Our heroes reveal themselves to be idiots--just like their fans! But that's the fun of this book. There are a lot of laughs in this braindead ride through L.A.'s glam rock scene with the biggest bunch of dopes this side of Rob Reiner's fictional muttonheads Spinal Tap. Party on!!

Summary: Simply Amazing.

Summary: What really went on behind the music!
Review: We sit in the audience and get rocked to the hilt, scream every chorus line and get blown away. The tale of Motley Crue is not only fit for the Crue heads but any rock N' roll follower. The book not only documents one bands wild and crazy ride through the treachorous music industry but it also documents the lives of four guys with a street born dream from LA to turn the music world upside down. I can't wait for the pages of book two to be written. For Mick Mars to shred through the guitar strings, Nikki to lay down the heavy base line, Vince to tear his way through the rock and roll anthems and Tommy, no disresepect to Randy, to rapture the drums in an unending machine of hits!

Summary: Whether you are now, were then, or have always been...
Review: Finally, I received my of "The Dirt" from Amazon and I knew from various tidbits of information from other sources that I would enjoy this read. I'm 19 years young now and was not "there" in the 80s when the Motley Crues, Poisons, and Warrants ruled the world, but I grew up on Rock-N-Roll now, and still Love and live it. Reading this book brought on the entire range of emotions, from laughter and happiness to despair and sadness. I'm sure if any member of Motley Crue walked past any one of us, that we would probably bow down... or at least be struck in awe, but guess what? They're four regular guys who had a passion. A passion for Rock music, a passion for women, a passion for drugs... mostly a passion for EXCESS. Whether it was good or bad, they were passionate. I laughed in admiration of the antics of Nikki Sixx as he was growing up, but started feeling bad as his pains and demons of his childhood were haunting him. And then, something I do not do, I started to cry when I read about Vince Neil and his struggle to cope with his daughter's death. Yes, we've all seen Behind The Music, but that misses A LOT that this book covers. Whether you are now, were then, or have always been a Motley Crue fan, buying and reading this book is sort of like a toast... to the most decadent, craziest, and to me, the greatest Rock-N-Roll band of all-time, Motley Crue. They're just like us... but they never gave in. Luckily they survived this crash course in Excess 101! I guarantee if you have any interest in Motley Crue that this book will be read in one sitting. Told from the perspectives of each Crue member, and various other influential people, the real, uncensored story finally gets revealed. Don't listen to MY words. Read it for yourself.

Summary: Spellbinding
Review: I couldn't put this book down. I planned on reading a chapter a day during my lunch breaks, but once I got going I couldn't stop. I love the way it comes at you from all different angles, tying the story together. Vince's chapter about his daughter were so emotional and powerful. I recommend this book to any Cruehead or rock fan. Others might think it's just filthy garbage, but I think it's pretty deep and insightful.

Summary: What a ride
Review: I've carried this band around with me for most of my life and what a ride it's been. The Dirt is no different. It chews you up and spits you right back out. The crazy thing is you'll be wanting more. As a child of the 80's this was a must read for me but in all honesty this is a must read for any music fan.

Summary: SEX, DRUGS & ALITTLE ROCK & ROLL
Review: This book was one of the best books i've read in a long time...You couldn't wait to turn the page to see what trouble they would get in next..Whether it be sex, drugs or trying to play music, they did it all..I'm actually not sure how they did make such good music, I take one asprin and i'm wasted..these guys did every drug on the planet, and then some..but there music stands the test of time, and i'm now an even bigger fan.. It takes a real man to tell the truth and this book really tells it like it is...GREAT WORK to all of you....

Summary: A true Rock N Roll band!
Review: This band has done it all and the book captures everything. I knew they did a lot of crazy things, but in the Dirt you will find out you knew nothing really! These guys were crazy and the Ultimate Rock N Roll band as they had all the girls, did all the drugs and have all the scars.

Summary: Dirtier than Dirt
Review: The Dirt gives the Motley Crue fanatic a real chance to glimpse into the minds of four of the craziest, excessive, creative, passionate, loving, dedicated, and impulsive rock stars on the planet. These bad boys pull you into their world and let the fan experience the parties, girls, drugs, car crashes, deaths, divorces, rehab visits, and the numerous times of cheating death. After reading this book you feel a genuine respect for these very real rock gods and wonder how in the hell they are all still alive (especially Nikki)!!!!! This book is an absolute must for anyone who is intrigued by the sex, drugs, and Rock N Roll lifestyle.
