Summary: The agony of debauchery, to the thrill of true victory
Review: Because of the raw experiences of living life on a primal level... one without breaks or barriers and least of all manners will not get in the way clouding the situation. These guys were like babies being let loose in a house unattended. Getting into all the cupboards, all the poisonous substances, falling down all the stairs, fighting over all the toys, nearly drowning in toilets... and as true to human nature once was never enough. This book has it all, good meat, good flow... goes down like a shot of Jack... kind of stings on the way down, totally lets you know you are alive but, well worth the effort... puts you in a head spinning frenzy. You will exhaust yourself without noticing... as the energy of this book will keep the thrill alive throughout. After reading, you wake up the next day with a hangover from the absolute abundance of dream material this will induce. The life of a rock star many always dreamt they wanted as a teenager has suddenly taken on a reality and it was everything you ever thought it would be... so much more and so much less. This book takes you into the minds and lives of four very real individuals that came from varying backgrounds. One of them sure to resemble yours. What will surprise you are the in depth looks at the other 3 people that do not resemble yourself and the way they think... You may walk away after having read this book knowing a lot more about people around you. On the other hand in some way they all resemble a part of all of us. In a lot of cases an untouched taboo part that will probably never be explored. You will no doubt be glad you didn't try a lot of this at home. This is your opportunity to fulfill that which quite probably will never happen in your lifetime.

Summary: A MUST HAVE FOR ANY MUSIC FAN!
Review: This book is a must have for any music fan! It is a no holds barred account of the pursuit for rock n roll fame and fortune, but also a very detailed, personal account of the journey of each member of the Crue to get where they are now. MOTLEY CRUE definately derserve the title of the GREATEST ROCK N ROLL BAND OF ALL TIME!

Summary: The ups and downs of a rock star's life
Review: Well I read it and I'm none the worse for wear. But man alive, those guys are incredible!! I'm glad to see they grew as people and maybe someday their "band" relationship will catch up with them. Until then, read this enjoyable book for a real look into their amazing lives.

Summary: Entertaining but not as good as "Unchained..." for true dirt
Review: These guys are crazy! I enjoyed it to a point but their story lacks the quality of the one told about Alice In Chains in "Unchained...The Story Of Mike Starr." These are the two best books fresh out about the dark inside of the rock and roll scene. Notorious? Not as sinister as Alice In Chains. LA rocks is phony to me. How many times can your ears perk up hearing how Tommy Lee made it with Pamela Lee Anderson? Overall these guys are cool and their story is worth reading.

Summary: A must read for any motley crue fan.
Review: Reading this book brought me through the ups and downs of the band like I was with them. I've never tryed herion, but boy this book made me feel what it was like to be a junkie. All the questions I ever had about the band were answered and more.

Summary: BEYOND DECADENCE!!!
Review: Having been a rock groupie and no stranger to the Sunset Strip scene, I was STILL blown away by the antics of this band! Motley Crue redefined "excess", and I'm amazed that they were able to make music amidst the chaos and partying that was their existance. Some of the things the band did were horrifying.... and I don't shock easily. I recently met Nikki Sixx at a signing, and he looked hot. Vince looked a bit more worn out, but the girls still flocked to them. For any Crue fan, this book is a must read.

Summary: the dirt
Review: This is an incredible book. It is as exciting to read as it was listening to my first Motley record ever. The boys in the crue take you on a journey that every teenage boy dreamed of, and also through the nightmares of drug addiction and alcholism.... Great read for any "metal" freak.

Summary: Dusting Off the Dirt
Review: "The Dirt" by Motley Crue and Neil Strauss is a must have for any fan of rock n roll music. Motley Crue has been a high profile in the media for twenty years, but even the biggest Crue fan will find information in this book that was previously unheard of. Considering this book was compiled from all of the band members, as well as their managers, Neil Strauss did an excellent job of piecing the book together to hold the readers interest. One might find the book hard to put down, except to rest from the weight of 430+ pages. Being that I am one of the biggest Crue fans I wish that there was more to the book. Hopefully, there will be a Part 2 to this truelife story that some people couldn't even imagine up. Excellent reading!!

Summary: Great Book
Review: I laughed, I cried, I cringed. An excellent book detailing Motley's career the past 20 years. Their rise to stardom, their faults, drugs, alcohol. Not for the faint of heart as this goes into extreme detail regarding their escapades.

Very well written and kept me page turning throughout.

Summary: Motley Mayhem
Review: Gee.....I don't particularly care for Motley Crues music but this book is something special. Tales of debauchery and self inflicted pain is all over this book. At the same time it brings the life of a rock star to a human level. Childhood, teenage years, marraiges, parenthood are as much a part of this book as the music. I particularly think that Nikki Sixx's confessions are real and poignant. This book should be a part of any rock fan's library.
