Rating: Summary: The Dirt doesn't wash off Review: An incredibly well written story from an equally incredible band. A shocking, hilarious, gross, anarchy filled confessional that is nearly impossible to put down once I pick it up. Includes many incredible pictures. A great read for any fan of the rock and roll lifestyle.
Rating: Summary: Sex, Drugs and Rock & Roll Review: This book is a must for any Motley Crue fan and an excellent read for anyone interested in the music industry. This band did everything and they did it to the extreme. This book go into great detail about their drug addictions, alcoholism, women and inner band turmoil. You'll find out about the surprisingly soft side the band has when you read about Vince's loss of his daughter, Nikki's bad childhood, Tommy's time in jail and Mick's crippling disease. These guys have led a rock ' n ' roll life and they had had a hell of a time doing it and you'll have a great time reading about it.
Rating: Summary: For Crue Fans Only Review: This is a pretty cool book, but if you are not a fan, I don't think you will really care about this stuff. The only problem I had with the book was the truth. There is some stuff that seems it was added for entertainment value. None the less, it was an easy and entertaining read.
Rating: Summary: You won't get S'crued with this book Review: Got it as a Father's Day gift yesterday and finished all 400 odd pages before I crashed. Is it a literary masterpiece? Absolutely not. Is it hard to put down? Absolutely yes. If you were an 80's rocker, then this book won't shed too much light on the band, especially if you were an avid Circus Magazine or (S)Hit Parader reader. I wish I would have kept all my mags. Ebay didn't exist back then (oh, well). However, the book's fun to read simply for the fact that it's cool to know about infighting and the money problems, etc. Plus, the most interesting fact about the whole book is the relationship between Brandi and Nikki and her mother (you figure it out). Get the book, because my wife paid a lot of bucks at the bookstore, therefore taking away from my beer cash.
Rating: Summary: THE LOST BOYS IN PARADISE? Review: Forget Jackie Collins cause this is the sleeziest, dirtiest, hardcore story of all time...and I loved every page of it! Nothing could pull me away from this book which takes you right into the bloody centre of the Crue's world from beginnings, to the stella years, and back down the other sharp side. Despite the fact that through the eighties every music magazine had these lecherous goons leering at us on the newstands containing tales of debauchery, it appears it was only the surface dust...cause the grimes all exposed right here! It makes fascinating reading with tales so hot the pages begin to smoke and burn and yet by the time you reach the back cover you can't help but feel sorry for the members of this band who in one way or another all seem to be searching for only themselves, trapped as lost boys in an endless youth. My instincts tell me the Crue will be back and bigger than ever to shake up the rock world some day soon... remember its entertainment or death from the terrors from Tinsletown and after reading this Hollywood rags to riches to rags tale you will believe it too. Now where are my old Motley CDs?
Rating: Summary: THIS BOOK IS A MUST HAVE FOR THE TRUE CRUE FAN!!!!!!! Review: This book is great!!! These guys are incredible, how awsome is it that they share their personal life stories with their fans!!!
Rating: Summary: THIS BOOK IS A MUST HAVE FOR THE TRUE CRUE FAN!!!!!!! Review: This book is great!!! These guys are incredible, how awsome is it that they share a look into their lives for us to read about!!!
Rating: Summary: Excellent read, 1 of 2 great new books about rock and roll Review: These guys really knew how to party. But I wouldn't want to trade places with them. It's as shocking a tale as the new book I just read about Alice In Chains called "Unchained, the story of Mike Starr." No one seems to know how to save these guys from themselves. I love celebrity ugliness and these two books definitely have it.
Rating: Summary: Dirty Business is Good Business Review: No true metal fan should go without this book. It's an honest look into the perils of rock n roll. It shows you more than what you want to know. Isn't that all you need? That in itself is "very metal!" Even if you didn't dig Motley Crue because they were "glam trash," you probably have found yourself humming their tunes and that deserves a read of this most excellent chronicle. You'll want to know about Nikki Sixx's blind dedication, Tommy's boyish nature, Vince's traumas and triumphs, and Mick's very competent silence. Check it out!!!!
Rating: Summary: The Best Auto-Biography I've ever read!!! Review: Do you really want to be a rock star? This book may change your mind. This is an excellent behind the scenes look at what really went on with one of the most notorious rock bands in history. Motley Crue tells it all from living in a trashy apartment, not having enough money for food, let alone toilet paper to living in mansions and having mulitplatinum records! It shows you life as a rock star is not all it's cracked up to be and that these four guys are just like the rest of us, trying to make it through life. Highly recommended!
