Summary: Boring.
Review: If you have followed Motley Crue throughout their career, even part way, then you know what's in this book. There are some tidbits of stuff in there that have not been made to the general public before, and are the only interesting items to read. But over all, this book is beyond boring. Tommy and Nikki slept with every Playboy Playmate in existence. So? Then they married them all, divorced them all, and whined about them all. Sorry, but you get no sympathy if you go through Playmates the way normal people go through paper towels. They had the good life and screwed it up. Royally.

Synopsis of the book - woke up, did bags of dope, slept with numerous women, passed out. Turn page and repeat.

The true shining light of this book what the chapter on Vince and Skylar. That was truly heartbreaking. No one should have to go through that much pain.

Save your money - go see them in concert.

Summary: Danger! Keep out of reach of children and prudes!
Review: Unreal!! It's better than fiction. If you want to take your mind, and keep your mind off your troubles, woes, or hard times, read this book! It's impossible to think of anything else while you're reading every delicious and discussting word.

Summary: Never read anything like it...
Review: Anyone who's remotely interested in the lives rock stars lead or has ever sat through "Behind the Music" will be riveted by this book. You don't have to be a fan of their music - I've never bought an album - to appreciate the lives they've led and that they survived overdoses, drunk driving, lawsuits, predatory family members (namely wives), and enough drugs to stun a family of elephants. I couldn't put it down. You come away from it with a strange kind of respect for them - not only for surviving but for forcing themselves to grow up in an industry that wants them to stay drunk, bratty infants eternally. Let's hope they get back together (all four of the original members) and make more music and have more adventures to fuel a Dirt II.

Summary: The Mayhem of Motley
Review: This is a must-read for any Motley Crue fan. It scratches away the tough veneer of America's favorite rock-n-roll band and unearths suprising elements. Tears, heartaches, rapes and terminal diseases--and this is only the beginning--the Crue continue to shock their fans in a way only they have been able to for nearly 20 years. It's almost impossible to put down. Dirty, provacative and scandalous, readers will have more insight than they ever wanted (or needed) to know about Motley Crue.

Summary: golden dirt
Review: I was so excited when I finally got my hands on a copy of this book and I was not dissapointed when I started reading.

It's hilarious, sad and very insightful, I cant put it down.

It's the kind of book you could easily read in one sitting.

Well done to all the guys from Motley Crue for their humility in telling it the way it is and was.

This has become a major topic of conversation in my life and I recommend it to everyone I talk to.

Summary: Rock N F'N Roll
Review: Hardcore rock and roll from some of the best. Great, entertaining stories and histories of the band members and their trials and tribulations through their success. The book can, at times be a bit repetetive. I love the Crue and their music so that didn't bother me at all. Highly reccomended for rock fans. If you listen to generic little boy and girl bands you will hate this book.

Summary: Get THE DIRT
Review: What can you say about one of the most important heavy metal bands in history? VH1's Behind the Music only touches on some of the stuff they went through. The Dirt "injects" you with all the goodies of being in this or any rock band(a dream of many). THE GIRLS, THE DRUGS, THE LIVES of the members are detailed so well that you feel like you were there. This book keeps the reader reading the moment it is picked up. A great read and buy!

Summary: Take a ride on the wild side...
Review: A fascinating read...the band and various other players take us on a whirlwind tour of their lives and career as one of the most notorious bands in history. Written in diary style, each chapter features a different voice. No one is spared, least of all themselves. I couldn't put this book down. Dysfunctional families, illness, violence, sex, drugs, rock 'n roll, death... it's all here. Guaranteed to keep you reading well into the night, even if you're not a Motley Crue fan.

Summary: Stays with you for days after you put it down!
Review: Wow, this book was an all-around engrossing read! I thing other reviewers summed it up pretty well, so I just have one new comment to make: did anyone else find it a scream that Tommy and Pamela Lee were adamant about a "natural, drug-free birth" for their child? I mean, these two take the prize for being as drug-addled and unnatural as they come! Over the years, Mr. Lee proves again and again what a moronic, trendy wanna-be he is--witness his traiterous jump on the rap bandwagon, not to mention his gross negligence for recently letting a little boy drown at his kid's party. On the positive side, however, my heart went out to Nikki, Vince, and Mick, and made me remember why this was one of my fave bands in the eighties.
