Review: After reading this book, I'm convinced that most professing Christians in America have no clue what it means to be a disciple of Jesus Christ. This book is about Yun who was nicknamed "The Heavenly Man". Yun was a church leader, planter and missionary in China. He faced much persecution because he refused to compromise. He could have avoided the persecution, separation from his family and imprisonment by just being quiet about his faith. But he choose to obey, and he suffered greatly. I was challenged and convicted of my fear of man. This book has been one of the most life changing books I have ever read. Buy It!

Review: I just finished reading this book, and really enjoyed it! At first I was a bit skeptical--and I still am a bit, put I prayed about things--and now pretty much believe it. It is about a Chinese christian, and how God took care of him. It is also the account of many miracles--big things, and small.

Review: I wish I could give this book six or seven stars. There
are a few truly rare books out there that can genuinely
change your life for the better: this is definitely one
of those books.
You will be amazed to read the fascinating and heartrending
testimony of bro.Yun, a leader in the Chinese underground
church, and how his "faith of abandonment to GOD" leads
him into astounding testings and overcoming power to

Review: Many Christians in America are causally aware that outside the West, Jesus' followers experince difficulty because of their faith. We observe November's Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church, and afterward go on with our lives. You cannot read this piercing biography of Liu Zhenying, better known as Brother Yun, and remain unchanged.These recorded experiences show in a concrete way what it is for Chinese Christians to live hard lives of extreme danger because of their faith: police raids in the night, long imprisonment without trial, beatings (no citizen of the West is equipped to imagine what a beating is), forced abortions and sterilizations, starvation, dehydration, isolation, nakedness. Review: Never have I read or imagined anything like this book! And it is a true story! It will ignite and challenge your faith! Scripture is quoted throughout the book in relation to the events and in a way that is fresh and alive. The book engages the reader and requires the reader to respond to it. It will either ignite your heart or harden it.
It is a revealing look into what God is doing in the East and gives a new meaning to how we as westerners often use of the word missionary. "The Heavenly Man" challenges the sleeping church to wake up. This verse sumerizes that challenge "What then shall we say? That the Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, have obtained it, a righteousness that is by faith, but Isael, who pursued a law of righteousness, has not attained it. Why not? because they pursued it not by faith but as if it were by works. They stumbled over the 'stumbling stone'" (Rom 9:33).
The striking humility of Brother Yun is very humbling to the reader. It shows that it is possible to walk very closely to the way that Jesus walked. The testimony of both the persecution and the miricles is shocking!
It is a very powerful book in that it clearly states that this is but one testimony among many and that many more Eastern Christians are walking similar paths.
This is a most moving and challenging book!

Review: This book may be one of the most captivating and riviting books I have ever read. My husband (a rare reader) read this book in two sittings, after I read the first two chapters aloud to him.
Get this book and give it to anyone you know. This story cannot fail to inspire believers, non-believers, sceptics, and atheists alike. It has implications for spheres of faith, politics, foreign policy, relationships, and the future of the Christian Church world-wide. Brother Yun will be a hero and role model (Saint!) for generations yet unborn.

Review: This book will indeed set your heart on fire for the gospel. It will impart a vision for how we should live our lives by following the example of Brother Yun. You will be changed after reading his story. I am not one who is easily swayed, but this true story changed my perpective on life. Our small trials are but naught compared to the persecution of the Chinese Christians. Yet, they lay down their lives for the cause of Christ. It is truly inspiring!
