Summary: Please re-publish the very young series!
Review: A Very Young Rider was recently introduced to me through my riding instructor. I am 33 years old and I have found in me the capacity to love this book as if I were a little girl again! Unfortunately, I can only borrow the book, as it is out of print. My three year old daughter, who has taken up riding, reads this book almost daily, just looking at the fabulous pictures and tugging on me to read the captions to her. I am dismayed that this series is out of print as I want to get all of the books in it for my baby girl, who loves dancing, riding and gymnastics. Vivi Malloy's story is ageless, and it does not matter that the photos were taken in the 70's or 80's. The book is gorgeous--please bring it back into print!

Summary: A Very Young Rider
Review: All of the books in this series are amazing! I remember reading them on the floor of the local library when I was little and so amazed with Vivi Malloy and her family and her pony, Penny. I lived in suburbia so the only encounter I had with horses were in books, at horse farms or model horses. The photos are timeless and the text is wonderful for all ages. Jill Krementz is an amazing author and photographer and yes, these books should be reprinted for all generations!

Summary: I loved this book as a young girl
Review: As a young horse owner and rider myself - I absolutely adored this book as a young girl. So much so that I actually wrote to Vivi Malloy (how I figured out where to send the letter I can't remember!!) and was THRILLED when she wrote back! I still have my book and cannot wait to pass it along to my baby girl when she is older.

All of the Very Young books are the best - it's a shame they are out of print. I'm so glad that I still have 3 of them!

Summary: A Piece of my Childhood...
Review: I am 38 year and got this book for Christmas at about 10 years old. I, too, had a pony that I showed and loved dearly. I even started to wear my long, blonde hair in braids with lucky polkadot ribbons when I showed English. I ran home from school every day, waiting to get close enough to hear her whinny for me...I cried along with Vivi as I outgrew my precious pony, Boots, and moved on to a bigger horse. It still brings bittersweet tears to my eyes when I thumb through it! My dust cover is torn and worn and I was looking for a replacement book when I came upon this thread. This book, and all in the series, were wonderful stories of real-life people with real stories and experiences. With so much garbage thrown at our kids these days, it would be a shame to see this series disappear.

Summary: OUT OF DATE? MY HOOF!
Review: I have owned this book since I was a kid, and now I'm 25! I loved it because when I was 8, I moved from CT to S.E. PA where the Devon Horseshow is held. This book follows a young girl and her pony from show to show, with Devon being one of the big ones. I was at looking through a horse book store at the Devon Horsehow this year when I overheard a customer ask about this book. They were told by a friend to buy this book for their daughter who just started riding. Unfortunately, this book has gone out of print and they were out of luck. The reason? The photographs were out of date. English riding is timeless, and so is this book...bring it back into print Jill!

Summary: Fantastic book for any horse crazy person
Review: I love this Jill Krementz book. I found it when I was in 4th or 5th grade, I am 27 now! I am searching for a copy to purchase because I absolutely fell in love with the photography and the story! I highly recommend finding a copy for any horse crazy person!

Summary: Excellent.
Review: I loved this book when I first discovered it as a ten year old. I still have a copy stashed in my bookshelf. It's well written, and as most people who know a little about horses get frustrated with books that are written about horses by people who don't really "know" about horses, Jill Krementz obviously did her homework. It's a great story, and I have always wished for a sequel. For those readers who may wish to know, both Vivi and Debby Malloy are still riding! Debby is actually married to a German Show Jumping star, but I lost track of Vivi's doings about six years or so.

Summary: OUT OF DATE? MY HOOF!
Review: I read the previous reviewer's comment that this book was out of print because it's photos are out of date. It made me SO MAD that I went and pulled my copy off my bookshelf (I'm 32 and bought a copy of the book when I was in college since I'd loved it so much as a kid)just to see how out of date the photos were. Not a one! Other than the fact that Vivi was wearing Adidas...I mean really, she even had her harness on her helmet! If there are any publishers out there reading this, this one needs to come back!
