Review: It's interesting that some people say Christopher Reeve should have devoted more of his autobiography to his acting career and others say he should have talked only about his life AFTER the accident. I suspect that means Chris got it JUST RIGHT. There is a balance between his equally interesting life before and after. Also, by interweaving the two, Chris keeps the intense story of his life after the accident from becoming overwhelming. Read this book. You will look at the world each morning with renewed appreciation. Also, as Oprah said, it just might make you a better person.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: This book must be HEARD. Review: Christopher Reeve breathes life into this, his own tale of vulnerability and struggle for survival. No one can tell it better than one who has experienced such a tragedy first-hand. To me he is still the star of "Somewhere in Time." We wish you continued joy with your supportive family, Chris.
Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: More of a biography than an inspiration. Review: I didn't expect to read anything about Mr. Reeves acting career in this book. I was looking for inspiration and understanding as to how his injury is tolerable or unbearable, and everything in between. I did enjoy reading about the amazing folks who work with him. Wasn't what I expected, I hate to say I was disappointed, I hope the book brings attention to the reach that it needed.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: It was an excellent chronicle of Christopher Reeve's life Review: I enjoyed reading "Still Me". It was interesting to read about his life prior to the accident, leading up to the accident and since the accident. He is very lucky to have such good support to help him to continue to live his life as "normally" as possible.

Review: I enjoyed this book to the fullest as I listened to it on tape in Christopher Reeves' own voice.I encourage anyone entering crossroads in his life to read or listen to Chris. He has done an outstanding job of presenting HIS STORY in not only an entertaining manner but with the spirit that will move you to take action in your own life! His accident was an accident, but he now gives us a gift! A must to read for everyone!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: This book shows how depth of real, mature love = hope. Review: This inspiring, informative book is must reading for anyone who is disabled or for the entire "world family" providing emotional and/or physica support. Christopher Reeve's insights of the importance of helping others, the deep, mature, love of his wife, Dana and children as well as his open, honest communication renew our faith that we can succeed and improve the physical quality of life for all disabled individuals. Of equal importance is that he is able to communicate how fragile life is and how important relationships with people we love are, and he has shown that damagaing patterns of behavior that destory relationships with people can be changed, giving us hope for the succeeding generations.
Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: Too brief Review: While it is admirable of Christopher Reeve to not succumb to the celebrity tell all style of books we see from most actors, I felt like I didn't get enough of the story regarding Christopher Reeve's life. The stories of his accident and the aftermath are poignant and heartfelt, but I think he gives his acting roles only a passing glance. I wanted to know what Superman was like. How were the movies? Is his spin on his non Superman career true, or did he really have trouble getting work because he was typecast? Additionally, we don't hear much about the people he worked with. One would assume that Christopher Reeve would never have written an autobiography had this accident not happened, and this is how it reads. Much insight to life as a paralyzed person, a cursory overview to his life as an actor.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: excellent for two reasons: Review: 1)book gave you insight into the acting profession; and 2) perhaps more importantly, gave you insight into reeve the man . . . very inspirational . . . made me grateful for all that i have!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: A hero. Review: When I was a little kid going to the movies was pretty passe, except for the type of movies that are an inspiration to you. Well, what Superman did for me (and I know this sounds corny as hell) was it taught me for the first time in my life that you should stand up for what you believe. So of course this great flick has always had a special place in my heart so when Christopher had the accident, my heart was broken. Then a friend said to me if I was going to wear a black arm band, and I immediatley said he's not dead, he's a fighter, c'mon he's Superman. Since the accident he certainley proved my quote correct. Living in Australia we don't hear much about what Christopher does with his time so when the book was released I gained a new found respect for an old hero. He doesn't need to fly to inspire me, because as soon as you've read the book you'll see that what takes Mr Reeve to greater & greater heights is that is that his heart & spirit are soaring way higher! ! than Superman ever got!
Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: I remain unconvinced... Review: I am very sorry for Christopher Reeve, and by the end of the book I remain as unconvinced as he does of his quality of life post-accident. It is interesting to learn how his life is managed now that he is almost totally debilitated, and I appreciate that peek into his private life. Still, most of the book is rehashing the rather charmed life he led up until his accident--the main topic of this book is his acting career, in magnified detail. And yet in spite of this obsessive detail, other times Reeve leaves big gaps...the mother to his first children (were they married or not?), that Dana was 7 months pregnant when they wed...that kind of information. It is so pathetic to see such a proud, masculine guy being reduced to his status of celebrity cripple--being called "inspirational"by Barbara Walters. By the end of his memoir I was no closer to understanding how he bears this, but I did realize that his survival depends on the good will of others, so I can see how it is in in best interest to act grateful.
