Summary: I held my breathe from the moment I looked at the cover.
Review: I requested this book for Christmas last year and started reading it before I finished opening the rest of my presents. I had to put it down a few times to catch my breathe and go give my kids and a husband a big hug. My daughter is 16 now and cannot understand why I worry every time she walks out the door. She claims I watch too much TV like "America's Most Wanted" and read too much. I truly believe in being informed and will never want to say, "if only I had not let her do this (or that)" because it was against my better judgement. She has a cell phone and pager and checks in with us often. But so do most of her friends. Whenever we see anything on "America's Most Wanted" that is happening in our area (and it is too often!), I call in the kids to watch and we're all a little bit more cautious. I pray everyone does the same. After reading Mr. Walsh's book, I think about his family often and they are in my prayers. They are doing a beautiful job keeping Adam's spirit alive in what they are doing for so many victims and potential victims. I love his enthusiasm when they catch a murderer or molester. Keep up the great work and NEVER take that show off the air! Too many kooks are waiting for that to happen.

Summary: I can't stop thinking about it....
Review: I have been interested in the Adam story since I watched the movie on Television. Adam would have been about the same age as I am and it really hit home when I watched the film, and hit even harder now after reading this book. I'm even more intrigued, horriefied, and sympathetic. I personally continue to wonder if he'll ever be found and if there's something that can be done to give the Walsh family some peace of mind.

I was horrified by some of the accounts the John Walsh of how the case was mishandled. I still get teary eyed when I think aobut the whole incident and especially thiking about the first chapter.

John Walsh is an inspiration, and I wish him the best. He has done parents and children a great service.

Summary: Tear of Rage is a must for anyone who has dealt with tragedy
Review: I never understood the passion that John Walsh had until I read Tears Of Rage. As a worker with suicide I know the pain that people suffer with loss. John has shown that you can rise above tragedy and help others. I thank God that we have someone with his character doing this kind of work.

Summary: haven't read yet but intend to i have a question
Review: Does anyone kow where i can find a copy of the movie? I have tried blockbuster, NYC library, called Naitonal Center for Missing and Exploited Children, no luck. I want to show it to my children who don't believe anything can happen to them. There is a man going to our local schools trying to abduct children. My oldest is 5 and he doesn't really believe anyone will hurt him. I tried everything to scare him, i think a movie about another child his age will work. Please let me know if you know where I can buy the video, in the meantime I am going to order the book. Thank you

Summary: It opened my eyes to the nightmare of loosing a child
Review: When the Adam Walsh case was all over the news, I was only five years old. Now at 21, I read about the pain and suffering of the parents of Adam. I don't know how someone could be so mean and cruel as to rape and murder a child. John Walsh is a very brave man and I think he is an example to parents like him all over the world. John pointed out something to me, that you can survive anything. God never puts more on us than we can handle. I hope that Adam is in heaven and that he is happy and will hurt no more. Everyone should read this book, whether they have children or not. I am not a parent myself, but I can almost imagine the hell they went through. To John and his family, God bless you and keep you well.

Summary: A must-read for all parents.
Review: I read this book in one day. I am truly amazed by John Walsh and his wife's strength at such an awful time. I'm sure Adam Walsh in in heaven now and is very proud of what his Dad has accomplished in his memory. No parent should let this book go unread. It will make you hug your child and think twice about taking your eyes off them, even for a split second. John Walsh has a heart of gold and the world is a much better place with him in it. Thank you Mr. Walsh for opening up your pain to us and letting us in your heart.

Summary: If you thought there were no more heros......
Review: I wanted to read this book because the Adam Walsh Story had always touched my heart. And, through the years, I have grown to admire his father, the author, more than any other person I've read about or heard about. This is an excellent book. The openness and honesty of the book is so very touching. There was so much of this story that I had never heard about... and now... even more so than before... I respect John Walsh.. (and Reve', as well)... In my opinion... he is a real hero.. he has taken the worst thing that could happen to a person.. a parent...and found the strength to do so much good for children.. for parents.. for crime victims... he is a true hero. I have recommeded this book to everyone I know... we all hope that we will never become a victim of crime... but we all need to know what has happened to the Walsh Family... to learn the things they have learned... Thank you John and Reve' Walsh.

Summary: A powerful book
Review: Walsh is convincing and compelling in discussing his son's murder and the subsequent struggle to find justice. I found myself quite sad about the state of our police system, lack of compassion and need for stronger consequences toward pedophiles. This book isn't for everyone, but as a social worker, I highly recommend it for anyone working with children and families.

Summary: John Walsh: An American Hero by Tricia Marrapodi
Review: "Tears of Rage" is a compelling look at John Walsh's tragedy and triumph as an advocate for missing children: the legal and personal heart break he and his family had to endure after his only son, Adam,6, was kidnapped from a Florida shopping mall and murdered. The charismatic Walsh proved that one person can make a difference. As host of "America's Most Wanted" he has been a crusader for children and adults alike, making this a safer world for all of us. "Tears of Rage" will remind you just how important it is to stay close to your children and family, remind them how much you love them and always be there for them and to protect them. John Walsh is an exemplary role model and a man's man, as he has proven in keeping America safer for all of us. One man who made a difference through his own personal tragedy and has gone on to triumph.
