Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Very, very raw Review: America first became aware of the plight of missing and murdered children through the TV movie "Adam", but the movie, excellent though it was, only outlined the story and didn't tell it in its entirety. In this book, John Walsh speaks frankly about his family's tragedy and their never ending, heartrending grief, but most of all, it chronicles their determination not to let Adam die in vain, and the various ways in which they have worked to achieve this, most importantly by using their son's example to save the lives of countless thousands of other children. All violent crime damages people, and it is a marvellous testament to the resilience of the human spirit that two people who have been damaged in the worst way, can become knights and use their loss and their pain as weapons in the fight , not only for children's rights, but for the rights of all crime victims everywhere. Besides being a long overdue story of the impact of violent crime on victims from a victim's perspective, "Tears of Rage", through the many salient messages it delivers, will undoubtedly save the lives of many more children, both now and in the future - and that would make Adam, as he looks down from heaven, extremely happy. God bless him, and God bless his parents. They all deserve it.

I kept it on my entertainment stand for that long. I dont know why I didn't read it sooner. I am 8 months younger than Adam. When I was his age I also lived in Florida. I was 6 too. When he disappeard my Mother was worried sick. She was so overprotective of the situation. Now I am going to be 25 and will never forget it myself knowing the story of the little boy that got picked up by a stranger. My Mother put it to me that way. Never go with someone you dont know. Now that I look back that little boy was Adam. I have never read a book in my life as touching as this. When I got to the scary part (when he disappeard) I slept with my 3 year old daughter that night. I can never imagine the pain. I beilive that John and Reve' Walsh are the most wonderful people I have never met. I forever hold a place in my heart for Adam. An angel who will forever touch the live's of parents and children all over.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: True Crime, True Emotions Review: Being an avid study of law enforcement and crime, I've read endless novels about true crime, and viewed hundreds of hours of police and law documentaries on TV. I never had any kind of emotional response to any of these somewhat clinical approaches at discussing law, the criminal process, collecting evidence, and the like. I never got misty when I read about the victims, and their attempts to put their lives back together. Never before was I angered or outraged by the heinous acts of the criminal. That all changed when I read Tears of Rage... its look at crime from a victim's point of view, as well as a father's crusade for justice for his son that became a fight for justice on the behalf of everyone, was what made the difference. There was a small degree of fear, then grief within me after reading about John and wife Reve Walsh's reaction to Adam's disappearance and murder. I felt disappointment and frustration as Walsh recounted his lobbying efforts to get crime and child protection laws passed in U.S. Congress, the roadblocks thrown at him, the runarounds he was given, and detours he had to hurdle, by both elected Congress members and surprisingly (at first) the FBI. But even through that, I felt a sense of accomplishment when Walsh discovered there there were those in government that were truly concerned about stopping crime and child abuse, and made every effort to draft and put new laws into effect. I felt the same uncertainty and intital skepticism that he felt when the FOX network offered Walsh the job to host a viewer participation crime-fighting show. There was anger within me when I read about the exploits of some of the first criminals profiled on America's Most Wanted, and exultation when they were finally captured. Finally there was a well of outrage that sprang forth as I saw how the mishandling of the Adam Walsh murder case and the many years of inaction and indifference by law enforcement kept John Walsh from receiving any kind of closure for him and his family. Even though the degree of the emotions that I felt as I read Tears Of Rage paled in comparison to John Walsh's own as he actually experienced what he had recounted, they were still quite strong, and surprisingly stunning in their potency. It was something that I never thought could happen, but when it was all said and done, I was glad to have experienced it. It was what John Walsh wanted Tears Of Rage to accomplish to begin with, and it succeeded beyond belief with me. Needless to say, I highly recommend this novel- it's true crime with true emotions.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: This book is a really good read! Review: John and Reve Walsh have to have the most guts of anyone I have ever seen. To have this happen to them, and have the courage to start a show to catch these people is absoutly amazing. John Walsh's book, Tears of Rage, tells a story that is very sad and heart grabbing. If you want to read a book that will tug at your heart strings, this is the one you should read.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: An excellent book John and Reve Walsh are heroes! Review: I highly encourage you to purchase this book. Once you start reading it, you won't be able to put it down. John and Reve Walsh have been to hell and back. Yet, in spite of their horrific tradedy of losing their six year old son, Adam, they managed to turn their anger into action. Many abducted children have been found thanks to the efforts of the Adam Walsh foundation, and America's Most Wanted. Yet, inspite of this great turn around of events, from tradedy to triumph, John Walsh teaches a very important lesson we all should remember. He tells of how his close friend was not goint to try and talk John out of his terrible pain of losing Adam. All his friend did was say "I will be here for you. I will listean to anything you have to say. I will cry with you and listean to your screams." That's all his friend had to do, according to this book. Walsh tells how pat answers will not heal a broken person's soul. All a friend has to do is be there, like John Walshs friends did for him. Anway, I think the book is very well written. My hat goes off to the Walsh family.

If it wasn't for John Walsh and his families hardships many of the missing kids would still be missing. This book IS A MUST for any parent. Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Frightening! Review: I was a small child when Adam was abducted, and his name and face have remained an enigma in my mind. I heard bits and pieces about the case while growing up, mostly from my parents and parents of other children who suddenly took kidnapping a little bit more seriously. I wanted to learn more about the case and read this book. I was moved to tears more than once reading about this family's struggle, perserverance, and triumph. However, I also became very angry reading about how the police botched the case time and again and how John Walsh never really got justice for his son.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: A must-read for all concerned parents, eye-opening Review: This book has been out for awhile now...I chose not to read it when it first came out because the content seemed too horrifying. But after an attempted child abduction in our small town, I felt compelled to read it and I'm glad I did. Most people have heard stories about Adam Walsh or other abducted and murdered children so I knew what to expect. However, I was SHOCKED to learn about the tangled politics behind child protection laws, jurisdiction, etc. I was so naive thinking that justice would be sought to the fullest extent in these cases. I have earned so much respect for John and Reve Walsh and others who have fought so hard create laws to protect our children. All parents must read this book. Then do what I did--push for a program in your city and give to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: In the beginning, there was Adam.. then hell breaks loose. Review: I have been watching Americas Most Wanted almost since it began. I came to know John Walsh that way. I remembered the TV movie, Adam, when it was new and I was just 12, and was chilled to think that while he played the game system at the Sears, Adam, could vaporize out of thin air. *I* used to be one of those kids at Sears or K-Mart. As I got older, I made the connection that John was Adam's dad and this was no ordinary TV movie of the week. This really happened and it was a terrible thing. I walked into a store one day and there it was on the rack. I had to have the book. Recently I picked up the second book, No Mercy. I am not finished yet, but there is a lot of detail like the first book. If you can handle Tears, try No Mercy. I knew it would be hard, but a story that needed to be told. John Walsh proves that anger and pain can be overcome with time, even if it never quite goes away. Hug your children a little harder before you let them out today.
