Summary: A good effort in collecting Warren's quotes in his life.
Review: A good introductory into the life of Warren Buffett. Though it was too generalized for me. The price was a bit steep too. It's a relaxed, easy to read book. Overall, you could learn from some of the quotes in the book. Not bad.

Summary: But check his performance lately
Review: A pleasant little book, mostly bonbons for dilettante investors, kind of sugary like those colas Warren loves so much. He's corny but incisive; a conservative who thinks he's part bleeding heart liberal. Right: in shark's skin. People love him, and the stock market degenerates worship him. Well, he's one of the world's richest men, so I guess they would. Personally he reminds me of Doyle Brunson, former world champion poker player. Buffet is fast and very intelligent, but likes to appear country. He hates pretension and likes to make light of himself. He could run for office and win. Not much wisdom here, except second hand. As philosopher, he's a kind of Will Rogers, and like Rogers an American original.

Summary: If you like Warren Buffett, you'll love this book!
Review: I'm a big fan of Warren Buffett already, but I have to say this is one of my favorite books of recent years. It's quite an easy read and very well written. Authored by someone who also appears to be a big fan of Warren Buffett. The book is well laid out, with sections on a number of topics. It imparts a variety of Mr. Buffett's business and investing wit & wisdom through quotes and interesting stories relating to both his personal and investing life. Not only may this book help you become a better investor, but it may also help you become a better person as well. Highly recommended, whether you invest in stocks or not.

Summary: Work of a lazy author...
Review: If being an author means collecting a few dozen quotes from various sources, sprinkling them with dry, useless opinions, and putting them together in an overpriced book, then I wager that anyone reading this can call themselves a writer.

The only reason I gave it two stars is because I liked the quotes. Warren Buffett is the world's greatest investor, the second richest man on the globe, and one of the very few who chose to stay out of the internet boom and bust. While millionaires and billionaires were overseeing the fading of their paper fortunes, Buffett was getting richer.

The many quotes offer an insight into the inner workings of Buffett, and that's really the only redeeming aspect of this book, if it can be called that. Whether your are a seasoned investor, a student of business, or someone looking to quote the words of one of the most brilliant men in the game, you will find value in this book.

Summary: Thoughtful / Insightful Words of Wisdom
Review: Janet has collected and organized Warren Buffet's quotes into categories such as family, friendship, investing (the largest, obviously). Having these quotes in one place brings out the consistency and simple life principles in Buffet's philosophy. Reflecting on how you agree / disagree with the quotes, why, and under which situations will help increase common sense. There are several suggestions that can be usefully applied. For example, I can benefit from researching competition more thoroughly when investing in a company. The four stars instead of five are because I didn't find a major "aha" that would enable a paradigm shift.

Summary: Excellent! A must read for any investor
Review: The ugly front page had deterred me from buying this book. Fortunately, I still bought it with the strong recommendation of a trader friend. Otherwise, I would have regretted for omitting such an excellent read.

In short, this short book is a concise but wise collection of what Buffett spoke about life, work, running a business, investing blah blah blah. It easily convinces me why Buffetts is the most successful investor (he's the richest guy) in history. Things are always easier said than done, but Buffett proved that he had done what he spoke. I had read many books about Buffett and value investing. I think this is by far the best considering value/quality per page. I strongly recommend you to read some sample pages available right here in Amazon and I bet you would love to own the book at once.
