Summary: Demons are Real, and cause illness, mental and physical
Review: I have been in the exorcism/sanctification and purification work for over 17 years now. This book will teach you many logical and extraordinary things. Do not read this book just as a "lark" or a story, for these things are real. There are many books that tell of these aspects but also create an attitude of fear as they do. This can instill false fear, since faith and trust in Love and the Lord's power turns all fear aside, and demons out on their rear! Another book that is incredible, and has several chapters on deliverance and cleansing prayers, and how to tell if it is medical or demonic, is by Tiffany Snow, The Power of Divine, A Healer's Guide. It's a book on healing, but that is what Jesus did also - deliverance right along side healing. Many of the illnesses that conventional medicine can't get rid of are actually demon infestation.

Summary: Not What I Expected
Review: I have been searching for years to get my hands on a copy of the Demonologist so when I saw that it was for sale, I quickly purchased it.
I was really, really disappointed with this book. I've read a number of books by the Warrens and have always found them pretty interesting but this one was like reading a textbook. There were a few actual stories which were pretty good but for the most part, it was like an interview with Ed Warren. I'm glad that I read it, but I wish I had waited until the library had it instead of purchasing it.

Summary: Don't believe in the supernatural? Ya dummy!!
Review: I have heard this book being read by the one and only Dr. Gene Scott on the Worldwide UNIVERSITY network on shortwave and radio as well as on the satellite. As he read from this book, the hairs on my skin stood up and I got chills. Reality is scarier than anything Steven King can dream up. The world of the unseen, really just another dimension is real. Those that refuse to believe in it do so at their own risk, not just on earth, but forever more. Great, great stuff. Must reading for skeptics.

Summary: The Scariest Book I've Ever Read!
Review: I have read almost all of the related works on the career of Ed and Lorraine Warren, and even such works as Ghost Hunters and The Haunted pale in comparison to this novel. I made the mistake of reading it while I was alone at night, and boy I was never sorrier in my life. This is definitely not for the faint of heart. Your heart will race at the tale of young siblings trying to outrun pure evil! Also the family whose house is plagued by destructive entities! Nothing will prepare you for the fear you will feel. I garauntee it. Compared to this The Exorcist is child's play!

Summary: You might not be prepared for this.
Review: I know I was not prepared for this. I love horror movies and books, have seen the Exorcist, the Omen, Rosemary's Baby, The Exorcist III, etc. I have read both the Exorcist and it's sequel, Legion. And I have even seen the Warrens' seminar four times. I sat down with this book expecting a good scare and some good entertainment. What I got was something else altogether.

To start, The Exorcist is a cakewalk compared to this. It puts any Stephen King or H. P. Lovecraft story to shame. It's simply the most frightening book I have ever read. This is partly due to how convincing it is and partly do to how it portrays real horror. It describes the intelligence and strategy of the demonic spirit, and the insanity, terror, and consequences they're capable of. The Exorcist seems like a very mild case of exorcism after reading this.

But more importantly, this book makes you think. It wasn't written to scare or even to shock. It was written to inform. I didn't come into this a believer, either in the supernatural or religion. I was a curious enthusiast who found the Warrens to be fascinating, even if they are just conartists. But since I've finished it I've had to completely reevaluate my stnace on religion. I think it gave a deeper understanding of true evil and a very real God. This book didn't make me run out and find Jesus, but I've been seriously considering faith for the first time in my life. One very important reason for this is that the book, even though the Warrens are Catholics, doesn't cater to one faith. Instead it paints a picture of religion that includes all faiths. It basically backs up the belief that all major religions worship the same God, just in different ways.

The case for the existence of demonic spirits is so carefully thought out, so tactfully delivered that one can't help but wonder. I couldn't help starting to believe. This is a very different type of book then The Exorcist or Rosemary's Baby. For one I found reading it at night unbearable.

The book goes on to make the bizarre and ridiculous stories like Amityville seem so much more possible. After reading this the so-called "evidence" that these stories are hoaxes will seem laughable. It will be clear that those people just don't understand.

Many reviews here will tell you that strange things happened to the reader while they were reading the book. This is ridiculous and untrue. For one, this book is doing just what the Devil doesn't want, exposing his truth. Reading it is quite safe and will make you less likely to experience something like this. Knowledge is key. The greatest trick the Devil ever played was convincing the world that he doesn't exist.

So I urge you to read this. You won't forget it. You won't regret it.

Summary: Eye and Mind opener
Review: I picked the book up in the 80's while stationed in Europe (Bad Kissingen, Germany) as a Military Police Desk Sergeant. One night, around 11:30, I started to read the book. I was alone in the building. I did not get past the second page before I had goose bumps and started to hear noises. I could not read any further until I had a patrol in the building. This book, "The Demonologist" will scare the pants off of you. I finally read it and it became the most talked about book for the next 6-12 months. The book disappeared,I kinda lost count who had it last but it has stayed in my mind all these years. Iwill get this book again and place it in my library with my most treasured readings. Mr and Mrs Warren... excellent writings.

Summary: Could This Stuff Be True?
Review: I read "The Demonologist" about two years ago. I have to admit that its content was disturbing to say the least and it bothered me for a short while. I have always been curious about the occult, even though I myself do no practice or endorse it. I simply find this subject amusing to read, that's all. Anyway, this book allows a pretty strong understanding of how "unclean spirits" affect our everyday human lives. Personally, I don't know if this stuff exists, but after reading the book, one has difficulty in not believing in it. I guess the easiest thing for a college-educated individual to do is not believe, since this subject has long been associated with medievalistic ignorance. And today, who wants to be associated with a label like that. However, if one keeps an open mind and reads the material, it is almost certain that one's spiritual code will be shaken and tested. The most valuable material in this book is how Ed Warren instructs us how to defend ourselves from these "evil forces" and how, more importantly, to avoid them. Surprisingly, I have read other material regarding this topic and am happy to say that this book is consistent with other published works. The material has been well researched (or experienced in this case)which lends an aura of authenticity.

If you don't believe in this sort of thing and consider it nonsense, you should still buy it because, at the very least, the book makes for scary reading at night. I thought this book was full of engaging information and at the same time makes you wonder what forces are out there that may have some impact in our behaviors in this earth.

Summary: Completely Incredible!
Review: I resisted reading this book for a long time because I thought it was just a knock-off of The Exorcist, but after learning that Stephen King uses The Demonologist as a reference I figured it was time to give it a try. My God I wasn't prepared for what I'd find out. Throw away all your other ghost stories, you won't need them after this. Not only is The Demonologist a legitimate book in its own right, it's one of the most incredible things I've ever read. This isn't just some collection of ghost stories, this book reveals the exact process behind spirit activity and then backs it up with real cases that have happened today. All I can say is no wonder it's back in print, it needs to be!

Summary: Best book I have ever read.
Review: I started reading this book with an open mind and half way through it I became an avid reader. I couldn't even finish the book and had to stop for two months before I restarted again. The ending has a very optimistic view and I like the way it is put in an question and answer dialog with stories in between. I haven't been able to sleep without the light on, and truthfully I'm not an easy person to scare.
