Summary: A delightfully dishy coming-of-age story
Review: Suzanne Hansen's tale of a small-town girl who came to Los Angeles to look after the children of the immensely wealthy families in the entertainment industry is touching, fun, and dishy. She gives the names of employers who were fair and admirable (Debra Winger, Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman), and assigns pseudonyms to the rich-yet-clueless (most notably, the "Swartz" family, reportedly Mike Ovitz's brood), people who think nothing of spending $20,000 for a Mediterranean cruise, yet when Dad makes a pricey phone call home, he asks first, "Is my art all right?"

Hansen's most disturbing portrait is of six-year-old "Joshua Swartz," who has already seen several nannies come and go, and who has hardened his heart to newcomers as well as to discipline.

If you like to read about La-La Land, but want to get behind the greasepaint and tinsel of the entertainment industry, this book is for you.

Summary: A quick and entertaining read.
Review: Suzanne takes you on a comical journey through her hysterically funny experiences with the "stars". She made me feel as if I were with her every step of the way and her antics had me laughing from cover to cover. I could not put this book down! Although she could have dished names, she chooses not to as that is not the focus of her book. I do believe however that she gives us "outsiders" a very real look into the untouchable lives of the rich and pampered. I hope that this is not the last that we hear from this wonderful author. You go girl!

Summary: REALITY READING!!!
Review: Suzanne's book is a hilarious, and vivaciously accurate account of the lives of mom's and nanny's, and the children they raise and love, in the fast pace of Hollywood stardom. Her stories pull no punches as she describes her own feelings and perceptions of the situations she finds herself in dealing with mom's and their children. This is proof that everything in Hollywood is not scripted, planned, produced, or edited for the viewers pleasure. Suzanne's story will provide an excellent addition to mothers of any age, and any size family. A sure cure for postpartum depression, and a relief from the terrible two's. Life isn't always pretty, but when you gain perspective, it can always be humorous.

Summary: I laughed out loud through the entire book!
Review: This book is a crack up, the story is one of the most entertaining I have read in years. If you want a FUN, "can't put down" read for the summer; this is the one. Even if you are NOT interested in what goes on in Hollywood, you will still enjoy this nanny's story. The best part for me was......it is non-fiction.

Summary: The Ultra Wealthy vs. Average Middle America
Review: This book is funny and hard to put down once you start reading. I thoroughly enjoyed it and you will too. The author does a great job at comparing the ultra wealthy people of our society to middle class America. I loved it! The author's trials and tribulations through the escapades of Hollywood's powerful are hilarious. Good read for a Saturday afternoon with a fire and a glass of red wine. Enjoy it - I did.

Summary: The best Nannybook around!
Review: This book is great reading for those who are interested in knowing what it is like to live among a different class of people. By the end of the book you will be shaking your head in disbelief at the way money makes people act! I feel that the most enlightening topic in this book was the fact that we DO have class discrimination in our country but that it is very invisible. It reminds us all that no matter what your station in life, we all have people who are at a lower level in the economic system who's view of life is very different then ours and also a upper class who see life from the vantage point of incredible wealth. All this and the book is very funny too! Enjoy!

Summary: Badly Written and Boring
Review: This book is so poorly written, it is almost embarrassing to read. It just isn't funny, it's boring; in fact I read it with a morbid fascination wondering how much worse it would get. I finally gave up after asking myself why am I making myself read a book that is making me cringe at the author's lack of literary skill, humor, and artistic talent. The Nanny Diaries it isn't.

Summary: Have to read it!
Review: This book was hilarious. I loved her journals, they gave a look into what she was really thinking and feeling, even when she appeared calm and together on the outside. It's a total crack up! I was happy (and a little embarrassed) to read I wasn't the only one with the "all occasion black dress" - I just never knew how many occasions, and how many different ways it could be used! Her ability to laugh at herself is refreshing.

Summary: Laugh out loud funny!
Review: This is a wonderful book that is pure fun to read. I laughed so hard, tears are still streaming down my face! Suzanne's writing is like a letter home from your best friend - instantly familiar. Buy this book for all your girlfriends.

Summary: Fun and very real
Review: This is a wonderful book. Professional nannies and the people that employ them should read this. Suzanne manages to entertain as well as educate people at the same time, which is true gift. I know that the average person that employs a nanny may not feel that they are in the same league as the rich Hollywood elite but they often behave as poorly. This is one small step to educating the general public about nannies and what they do. I was very lucky to meet Suzanne at the International Nanny Association Conference this past April. She no longer is a nanny but still has a passion for children and the nannying profession which shines through when you hear her speak! If you haven't all ready guessed, I am a nanny and found that the situations in the book are all too common in our profession. I have recommended this book to alot of people and they have all enjoyed it. It's a great summer read!
