Summary: I love this book
Review: I love the Temptations! I am indeed a very young fan. (21 to be exact) I've watched the movie over a thousand times and I have just finished the book and I loved it. I found out things I could never imagined happened to one of my favorite groups behind closed doors.

Summary: The Temptations Movie
Review: I am a young Temptations Fan and when I first seen the nbc movie I kept saying to myself I wish I could see this again, those guys who played the parts of them were wonderful especially Paul Williams. I have not read the book yet and I have been searching high and low and I am still looking. I just purchased the movie and have not stopped watching it yet. I am looking for a poster of the original temptations so if anyone know where I can get one form please let me know.

Summary: Patty Romanowski responds
Review: Hi! I'm Otis's coauthor for "Temptations." It's so encouraging to read all of your wonderful comments all these years after the book was first published. Just so you know, we have tried very hard to bring the back into print. It was a big disappointment when our orignal publisher did not republish when the movie first aired. There seems to be a belief in book publishing that readers won't buy a republished book, but I know that with this book, they're wrong. We just have to keep the faith. (And before you e-mail me, no, I don't have any extra copies lying around. I have the one Otis signed for me, and that baby's goin' nowhere!) Thank you all for your support of the book and of Otis and the Temptations. I know it means a lot to Otis and all of the other Tempts, wherever they are. I've done a lot of collaborations, and this one always has a very special place in my heart. It's so nice to know it's found a home in yours as well.

Summary: Well worth the wait
Review: It took almost a year for me to find a copy of this rare book and I am truly happy that I was blessed to receive it. I spent (2)times the original purchase price and I don't regret spending one extra dime on this excellent and moving book. Otis is a true gentleman. He named names when appropriate and left names out when not. I never felt cheated on information and the descriptions were so vivid, that it often felt as if I was right there. I also noticed there were some twists from the television movie. For those trying to find a copy of this book continue to check used book stores. As for me I will keep this book as a collector's item forever.

Summary: a very Tempting and must-have for the "Temptations" enthusia
Review: My name is Angel and live in the West Coast and I have been a Tempts fan ever since "My Girl" hit the air waves, and haven't let up since. As a matter of fact, I made "Treat her like a lady" my own personal anthem; that tune really expresses my belief about a 'lady'. I owned this book before and it was a great story about the guys and their individual ups and downs coming into the sixties limelight. After a recent move I had to make, I lost it and really regret letting it out of my sight. I hope whose ever hands it reached its someone who really enjoys the Temptations- who wouldn't.

Summary: Excellent! Fantastic!
Review: I have not read The Temptations by Otis & Romanowski but I have read the one by Ted Cox. It is excellent. I am a huge fan of the Temptations, especially Eddie Kendricks. I am so sorry that this book is out of print -- I am still trying to locate a copy of it. I have 2 copies of the movie but it is not the full length movie (it's only 2 hrs long). If you know where I can get the full length movie and a copy of Otis & Romanowski's book please let me know.

Summary: The 60's could not have been with out the Temptations
Review: I just love the Temptations,no I have not read the book there for I know I'm missing something.I hope this is my chance too get my hand on it. I do own the movie and have seen it about 100 times,at home and at work and everyone knows I'm in love with the Temptations and that time. Once in the 80's they recorded a song(SOULTOSOUL)and it change my life for good.See it gave me a new meaning to life as to where I was.It made me see that every day you live you can be soultosoul with whoever, whatever, however and whenever.Like the song says you didn't have to be eye to eye, orface to face as long as you can make that contact with someone or something you will be SOULTOSOUL.So from that day I became (SOL-2-SOL) bown. Ihave had it on my licnse plate for more then10yrs.I open a beauty salon and named it SOL-2-SOL HairDesigners, then I got a tatoo on my wrist and it reads SOL-2-SOL,Then most of I found my soulmate and once again it was SOL-2-SOL.We got married now he has a tatoo which reads SOL-ll-SOL.Yes we are as happy as our soul aloud us too be. Oh I all most for got I named my ninja600 SOL-2-SOL.So as you can see it all within me and I must then GOD because with out him none of this would ever be.

Summary: I don't think a better movie could be made about the Temps.
Review: The video stores can't keep the movie in stock. I purchased the last copy just yesterday from one of our Blockbusters. Prior to that I've repeatedly rented the movie. I've viewed it atleast 30 times and could watch it once every day. All of the actors were excellent! But LEON's performance as David Ruffin totally blew me away. I had to look at an actual photo of Ruffin to remember what he looked like after LEON's performance. I actually saw the Temps perform at Western University in Illinois just after Dennis Edwards joined the group (1969/70). For me, there are only 5 that I consider Temps--Paul, Otis, David, Eddie & Melvin. I wish the movie had given more attention to Eddie Kendricks, especially his death from lung cancer. Now I am in search of the book by Williams and Romanowski. It needs to be put back in print.

Summary: Captures the Temptations as individuals and a group!
Review: I loved the Temptations movie. My children and I have watched it at least 50 times. My children are 3 year old twins and they sing the Temps tunes as if they were children of the '60's. I have recently acquired the Temptations Anthology. It has demonstrated the historical accuracy of the movie. The actors resembled the actual group in appearance and performance. ( I especially liked the actor who played the role of Paul) This has in turn sparked my interest to locate and read the book. I am very disappointed to see that the book is no longer in print. In the meantime, I will continue to watch the movie and try to find other ways to research this magnificient group. I am in the process of making reservations for the Motown museum.
