Summary: A must-read for anyone abused by a therapist
Review: I thought I was the only one who had ever been emotionally abused and abandoned by a therapist. My former "therapist"--and I use that term very loosely--also told me that she "loved" me and "would never leave me." Then, during a very traumatic time in my life, she abandoned me, and told me it was MY fault. To say I was traumatized is the understatement of the century. It was nice to know I am not alone in this, but disheartening to know that there are therapists out there who abuse patients, and get away with it. I am still trying to cope with this loss six years later. Ms. Rogers should be commended highly for getting through her experience, while still helping others. She is a brave, courageous woman, and "Dr. Blumenthal" is a saint.

Summary: An extremely moving, vivid account of the power of therapy.
Review: This book takes you into the heart and mind of a fascinating woman. It portrays, in sometimes painful detail, the importance of the therapist-patient relationship. We observe two radically different styles of therapy, and the power of each to help or heal. A wonderful read for anyone in therapy - my own therapist and I are using it as a tool to explore our relationship.
