Summary: Rascal is the best book that I have read in a long time!!
Review: My mom read this book when she was in seventh grade and now has bought it for me. I am in fourth grade. It is a wonderful book about Sterling North when he was a boy and a baby raccoon named Rascal. They have their troubles but also have fun together. Rascal sometimes went into other people's gardens to get food and the neighbors did not like it. My favorite part was when Sterling, his father and Rascal went in a canoe and saw a mother bear and her cub. My mom's favorite part was when Rascal washed a sugar cube and it disappeared in his paws.

Summary: A delightful real story about how wonderful life can be
Review: My mother first read this book to me when I was real young, and since then it has always been my dream to live like the young boy in this story. It's a very touching story about the author's care-free childhood, and adventures with his new friend Rascal the Racoon. This story has been told with insight, humor and wit. That this is a true story, makes it become more vivid to the reader.

Summary: Breath-No Heart-taking
Review: Oh I loved this book! The descriptions and the characters! The way he makes the entire storyline (wheter its boring or not) exiting! Mr. North is a very good author and I think any author to be should take lessons from this book! It has funny characters without being silly...Sad parts, but I didn't cry.It is such a good book for pre-teens or adults or any age!

Summary: Pledge Reader 1
Review: Oh praise the LOrd! I love the politically correct family values this book contains. More books of this sort need to be publishes\d. There would not be so much fear and terrorism if folks would get back to basic loving family values and devotion. They should keep the ten commandments. This book is about a boys loyalty to his pet raccoon friend and about work-smart conflict resolution when disputes arise with neighbors. It is an outstanding publication. Thanks for selling this book!

Summary: Rascal
Review: Rascal is a novel that is mainly about an 11 year old boy named Sterling North and his raccoon Rascal. They are practacly like brothers, or best friends, because they do everything together. They go up north to Wisconsin because his dad has some business there. The two of them go fishing and enter in pie-eating contests. It was all perfect until Rascal became too smart for his own good. Sterling then has to make a hard decision. Either to cage his friend Rascal or to take him away and let him go free.
Rascal is a good book, because it shows how important a compainion like a dog, or a raccoon, is to have in your life. I would reccomend this book if you like wildlife and adventures. Overall I thought this book was pretty well-writen.

Summary: Rascal, the Charming Raccoon
Review: Rascal is a story about an 11-year-old boy named Sterling North and his funny, charming raccoon named Rascal. Sterling has many fascinating animals, but the one he find most amusing is his raccoon. My favorite part of the book was when Sterling and Oscar had to capture the little raccoon to take home. The two of them do many things together including fishing, vacationing freely in Wisconsin, and going to the Irish Picnic, a state fair where Sterling and Rascal win a pie eating contest. The two friends seem inseparable until Sterling has to make a difficult decision. Because Rascal had discovered the heavenly taste of corn and green beans he treasured them and could not stop eating them. He began to raid Reverend Thurman's garden for corn, and the he threatened to shoot Rascal. Now he has to choose to either encage his best friend or let him free in the wild to live, as his heart desires. This is a hard choice for Sterling, but he knew the best thing would be for Rascal is to let him go.
I enjoyed reading Rascal. It is a wonderful book because of the interesting and exciting events that happened. I found it fascinating that this book was based on a true story. I highly suggest it to anyone who has a soft spot in his or her heart for furry little critters.
